Apart from that I think she pretty cute and she has lots of room to grow and improve and I love seeing girls improve. Might keep an eye on her.

If I were her fan, I'd seriously worry about her future.
She's not performing at all ...

 

So far she's stood out the most for me among the 16th Gen so I suppose I could consider myself a fan of hers. I've just noticed a message posted today on the Official AKB48 Blog saying that she'll make a 'partial' appearance in tomorrow's KKS stage so I guess that's some better news if she hasn't been performing recently. Does she currently have some sort of health problem?

 

I hope it’s because she’s plain bad at dancing and not something serious.

 

Yuiri said that the three that didn't make the shonichi were because they weren't performing well enough. Since then it took Izumi a few weeks to start but she's performed consistently recently. Harima started a while after Izumi but has still only performed twice. I think maybe Mai is just a slow learner, after all several members have said she's a complete airhead.

 

I'm pretty sure her appearance is in regards to her birthday which was earlier this month. Hope she'll be able to perform with the rest of the 16th gen soon...

Watched Maichan's shonichi today and decided to translate her birthday speech:

Kanabun: You were 14 years old last year; what kind of year was it?

Maichan: There were many great, big things: for example, getting into AKB. It was a year that influenced me a lot. It felt like many things were over in just moment and time flew by really fast. I went through a lot of hardships and fun times with the 16th gen, and I experienced many things for the first time.

Kanabun: This year you're going to be 15; what kind of year do you want to make out of it?

Maichan: I'm not really the type to forget my troubles and make merry... I feel like I haven't really exerted myself and given it my all. Everyone's really giving it their all and doing their best, which is why I want to give it my all and grow this year.

Kanabun: Would you like to say something to the fans who organized this wonderful birthday stage?

Maichan: Firstly, thank you very much for organizing this birthday stage! Usually one would appear in all the songs during one's birthday stage, and I'm really sorry for appearing only during some songs. I have this "incomplete" feeling inside me, and everyone in the 16th gen helps me a lot. Fans, staff and members aid me greatly and kindly support me, and for being able to have a birthday stage like this I'm really greatful. I think you know this already, but the reason I entered AKB was to change myself. If I were to stay like this, I wouldn't have achieved that so I'm going to do my best to be able to appear in all songs of this "Let's go KKS" stage with the 16th gen. This is all I am, but I'd be really happy if you'd support me. Thank you very much.
