Not just the video, but the Saison CD is back up to #3 for each of the past two days. And both Silent Majority (#8) and Sekai ni wa Ai Shika Nai (#15) are inside the top twenty in the daily sales list posted Tuesday. Sugoi. We can now be absolutely certain that sales of Saison are over 500,000 on Oricon, since it sold 1859 copies on the list posted Tuesday, when it was only 1821 copies below 500,000 as of Christmas Day. Sales are also up on iTunes. And it is now over a month since the CD's release.

And Nogi is benefiting, too: Sayonara no Imi is at #7 for the day.

EDIT: Wrong thread for Saison info.

Bravo, Keyaki-chans! Half million copies for a 3rd single is quite an achievement!

Not unrealistic for this to break 400k as well!

In the daily chart for Thursday, Saison is up to #2! Despite being released over a month ago. Silent Majority is #9 and SekaAi is #14. And Sayonara no Imi (Nogizaka46) is #7. Talk about a Kouhaku bump. SekaAi will definitely pass 400K, if it hasn't already. And it does seem likely, as @kanjo says, that SaiMajo will do that, too, with only around 10K to go, as of Monday.

SaiMajo is now digitally certified Platinum by RIAJ, the first song to do so in the Sakamichi group.

Wow. How does that work? Do they count the YouTube views somehow? How can N46 not have sold more digital copies of something?

Only sales in digital stores like iTunes, Recochoku, mora etc. If you observe the rankings, Nogi has never been really strong in digital. They also actually never have one song that hits mainstream popularity, unlike Silent Majority.

Likewise in Keyaki's case, unless they have another mainstream hit, it's very hard for anything in the future to be certified Platinum, even if they were to eventually sell 1 million on Oricon.

    Wait isn't platinum 1million sales?
I know SaiMaj did really well digital but 1 million? Maybe they factor in a percentage of streaming (eg. youtube) views like the american one does.

RIAJ certification are 100k for gold, 250k for plat. 500k for double plat, 750k for triple plat, 1m for Million, 2+m for multi million.
Edit: also I believe the number are for digital only sales and to get 250k from digital only sales is really hard for an idol group since most of their sales are from CDs with the HS gimmick.

Everyone always making their own rules :hmm:
So it 250k, well that I can see. 250yen*250k = 62.5 Million yen. That's half a million euros in not predicted income.
Woah, hopefully the member saw some of this in their bank account.

A quarter million digital sales is really incredible, and points to the mainstream.

@Rurouni -- Handshake "gimmick." Lol. So true. Not that I'm complaining.

plus versioning. even me who don't like the idea of handshake would still buy 3-4 cds, that would definitely double/triple the sales.
if there's no handshake and multiple versioning, at most they could only sell 250k for silent majority, 120k for sekai ni wa ai shikanai, and 150k for futari saison lol

I also like to think it this way: many people who are buying saimajo might not be hard core idol fans, which might mean that they are solely interested in the music. Many Idol fans, IMHO, see groups like Keya as a complete package, with the music as one of the components (albeit maybe one of the most important). These fans also take into account the girls' performance in variety shows, for example.

If this is true, then it's even more important for them to continue producing good music and improving their showmanship. Otherwise, these mainstream buyers might lose interest soon.

In any case, congratulations to Keyaki-chans. You're doing great, here's to an even brighter future!

2channel is comparing how fast SaiMajo got to 50m with AKB top hits:

    ・Koi Suru Fortune Cookie
    279 days (2013/10/30 - 2014/08/05)

    ・Silent Majority
    356 days (2016/03/15 - 2017/03/06)

    ・Heavy Rotation
    392 days (2010/09/08 - 2011/10/05)

Hard to say what the significance of this is, but: Silent Majority got to 50million views faster than Heavy Rotation. Amazing company to keep.
