HKT48's 9th Single (Baguette Iijan) (1st Day Sales)
Day 1: 186,242 (1st)

 

Pretty low 1st day sales, lets hope there's some late shipments to boost it through the week.

 

Same as @Reveen said. Awaiting for first week sales to see what's actually happening.

 

Four of the Top 10 are female idol groups, three of which are among the Big 5 (HKT48 is 48G, Batten is 3B Junior, GEM is Idol Street).

There's also Pink Babies, an obscure idol group, debuted their "UFO" single at #13. Proves that Idol Sengoku Jidai won't end anytime soon.

 

They have shipped everything till 15th round. So unless there's other event I'm missing, there likely won't be a boost half way through the week.
16th-18th round will ship on 24th Feb, while the long 19th-21st round will ship on 7th April.

I won't be concerned about 1st week sales either.

 

It hurts me to see those numbers. All sister groups sales are crippling.

 

Isn't this the usual for HKT though?

74 sold like 5k on its first day and still managed to get past the 300k eventually.

I think that's a reasonable sucessful base-line for the SG.
If they didn't participate in AKB HS events and their fans could save for the SG releases, they could and would sell more.
But, that's not how the system works here.

 

That's what I thought too. HKT been selling 180-200K in their first week since their debut. In the end, they'll sell around 300K in total. HKT is the most stable sister group. NMB and SKE are only selling half what they used to sell.

 

Yeah, looking back at previous first week sales its normal (around 250,000 first week)...we probably had impression they were real famous or something lol

Guess HKT is still only real hawt restricted to Kyushuu areas, they still haven't really broke through into Kanto areas yet...I actually dunno where they should go with this cuz they are basically doing everything right imo but results aren't showing, so I'll just sit back and see how management goes.

 

Huh? Most of their good handshake results are in Kanto. If they could drop a date in Nagoya or Osaka and get an extra Kanto date their sales would go up.

 

agree. I think, we've already discussed it, but it looks like these sales are the limit for local groups. you can't really escape the reality. to sell more they need to relocate to Tokyo))
interesting that 2channelers posted regional economical stats together with sales report for the first time (or at least I haven't seen it earlier)
as usual, it shows a direct correlation between sales of groups and market value of their regions

HKT has a Kanto concert tour scheduled for late March and I've been trying to get a ticket for their show in Ashikaga in Tochigi Prefecture on 3/26 as the itinerary for my Japan trip next month will take me through that area. However even though I've applied in two rounds in the Ticket Center I've been unsuccessful which would seem to suggest that the show is selling out.

(although such is my previous experience with the Ticket Center maybe it's impossible to assume anything!)

I'm hoping for sales increase as well.. If HKT is a group containting just 4 members, that number of sales would just feel amazing. But it's a different thing, since HKT is a big group.
