do you guys have any idea what she was trying to say? oO
is it a message to the members who don't take SSK seriously? to be more serious? or to the members who will not participate this year?
or is it just the translation that makes it confusing?

 

At first to me it seemed like she is worried what people will think of her/AKB when her rank is only so-so because she's now the Soukantoku. She wants to try and not take it too seriously but she's scared that saying will make people go "of course she can try not to take it seriously, she's going to rank high anyway" and she knows she is going to rank relatively high.
So the way I understand is that she is worried for her rank, doesn't want to be scared of the results though, but at the same time doesn't want to seem careless because that will make people vote for her less/grow to dislike her.
And also that she doesn't think that ranking down is going to be embarrassing and that she'll keep working hard even if she ranks down.

Personally, I feel like she's embracing the role of Soukantoku and being more of a supporter than striving to be an ace. She doesn't care too much about her personal rank (but of course, she is a bit nervous about it as they all are) because she wants to be there for others and make sure AKB is doing well as a whole group.

 

Nice explanation.. & yeah.. Being soukantoku, like takamina, Yui has to prioritize the group over herself.. So, usually in ssk any rank as long as she is senbatsu doesnt matter.. Takamina ranks also low before.. She just need to be there among that 16..
But we, Yui fans do understand her desire, her dream (that still not achieve since paruru still there) to be Kami-7.. At least once in her akb career.. So, for me i think Yui really worried about this.. On one hand her dreams, on other hand if she manage to achieve her dream, maybe a lot of fans (of course not her fans ) will blame her..
You know, maybe some issue will rise, like she doesnt have to rank high, her rank should give to other, she already old, she soukantoku etc etc..

 

Talk about convoluted messages. Her message has multiple layers to it so it can be quite confusing.

1. She states her own perspective about the current SSK.
2. She acknowledges the fans expectation in compare to her own expectation of a Soukantoku position.
3. She address the worst situation if being ranked down is to happen and what kind of mental state she will approach it.
4. Her kind of hidden message is that wanting to make a gag at the end lol...since all she wanted to say for the aruaru was that there is always some members mess up the name plate upside down.

And all these messages were mashed into one big message as you can see there. You can say she is quite clever or try hard over-thought it, either way that's our Yuihan lol
