Yamashita Emiri (Emily)

Well, it's been a while since I posted here and I wondered if everyone bothered to post some things in her threads but, it seems I have to do my job again.

Anyway, the verdict was out on the Koi Koujou series, and what surprised everyone, including the Wotas, was Emiri being 8th on the rank, up there with some of the seasoned AKB idols

Holy crap, congratulations Emiri!

 

Judging from reading the Koi Koujou thread here in the forums, it still puzzles me somehow how she got the 8th position. For one, I rule out the possibility of having supporters in the Philippines. I rarely knew some people who would oshi her from the wota circles here since the fanbase here is fragmented and even then, I have not seen any translated links for voting (I didn't even vote.)

Personally, I'd say her acting performance in the episode isn't at all that stellar, which made me rule out the possibility that the judges themselves may have scored it highly. And I'm highly suspect that Emiri may have had a sizeable fanbase to even get all of those votes. So I'm boiling facts down to the following:

01 - There might have been a "you're our representative" kind of voting among fans, which means to say that since she represents a particular group, she gets their vote (in this case team TII

02 - I might be miscalculating the size of her fanbase.

03 - There might be fans who might have had repeat votes.

04 - Some may have been jumping ship to vote for her.

05 - I may have miscalculated how the judges voted for her.

06 - Voters may have wanted a fresh face.

But to tell you all the truth, she just has this performance in it that speaks of that "image" when it comes to drama. All in all, I'd really hope that this would open for her getting more acting jobs . I honestly believe that Emiri might actually be made up for acting rather than idol stuff and these things could be signs for her. Who knows, really. She kind of surprises me a lot.

Since it's the Tanabata today,
Me and Saepyon went out!

First, we had our nails done,
And, ate a meal, looked at (western-style) clothes.

I'm happy but,
It's a mistake and if you'd speak to me, I think I'd be bothered!
Anyway, we were walking while looking down.

We roared with laughter among ourselves.

Anyway, personally, I've been comparing her to this girl I found in Twitter who kind of speaks like her and looks like her. Her name is MEY-chan from an indie idol group PICK-UP GIRLS (they need to change their name.) What do you think?
