Its impossible but it would be cool if 16th gen was team. Theres this weird blissful feeling when watching their lives. I've never felt this way about a group before, at least in 48G.

Announcement during yesterday's KKS senshuuraku: pre-orders are open for the 16th gen concert from January ("AKB no mirai, ima ugoku!") at the AKB48 Shopping site!

It'll only be available as DVD, and the set will cost 8000 yen (+tax). The set includes the concert and making-of material. It'll be released during autumn, no date specified.

So their unit name is “16 Enpi-Chu!” (official spelling: 16えんぴChu!). It's a pun in the chu style of Tentomu and Dendenmu (and I guess we should count Imomu there as well), in this case they're using “enpitsu” which means pencil. So they're a box of 16-colored pencils, except chu!

The pun gets complicated, I have to suspect Maeda's involvement in coming up with this. (Her senkyo poster was, well, if it got any more complicated it would count as a puzzle.)

In a way it's like the Chu! units but not really, because these were all really muChu! units, all based on small animals. (“Mushi” is normally defined as insect but really “bug” is more appropriate, since it includes non-insects like molluscs and arachnids.) Tentoumushi = ladybug, dendenmushi or dedemushi = snail, imomushi = caterpillar but only the hairless ones.

They proceeded to have a tournament to decide who would be their representative. They'll have a different person do each round: their internal Janken Queen will do the prelim against 8 and also the finals, their second place will do the first round of the actual tournment, #3 will do the second round, and so on. They have it on the board that #6 will do the 5th round but actually according to the diagram on the Janken video (on the official site) they'll only play 5 rounds, so the 5th is the final already.

- Round 2: Harima Nanami (Harimachan)
- Round 3: Honma Mai (Maichan)

Satomina was joking early in the video that Kaori was her girlfriend (or was it the other way around?) and indeed they managed to tie 4× in their match… O.O

Kururun's “doya gao” (triumph face?) was the best… I wish I could post a screenshot but the video is absolutely potatoes at this point.

Also, the prelims against 8 are this Saturday at the handshake, 14:50. Manaka kind of slurred it (Jyuu*$#%gojyuupun) but Naamin clarified with hand signs.

Watched both of their TIF performances, the girls were smilling but some songs like Heavy rotation and zuto zuto were really bad for my ears! The only girls that stand out in term of Dance is Mizuki. The other girls can do cute songs but they are not very sharp with their mouvement too. But some of them are improving. They have a bright futur ahead!

They're currently livestreaming wrapping the DVDs. Naamin just told us the jackets are actually unique and handmade by the members AKS sweatshop LOL

EDIT: they said a number of different things during the stream, I'm not entirely sure whether or not they're unique. But I think so.

Kanabun (Yasuda Kana)'s jackets are origami sugoi.

Since it's child labor I'm expecting this DVD to be pretty cheap

Looks like that will happen at some point before 2020… probably when they have to leave for Miichan's graduation concert

EDIT 17:55JST: finally over. Not that I'm complaining, 4h (almost) of free 16ki being silly is a much better Sunday than I was expecting.
