well GEES uploads the video to youtube along with the subs. It might be people reporting him OR it might just be youtube's filter, flagging his videos and shutting it down.
Personally I love GEES' subs (super fast release), but I think it's the uploading of the whole video that's getting him in trouble. I think if he just did a blog style release of just the subs he shouldn't have any troubles.

I think it should be YouTube because a lot of channels that post variety shows always gets copyrighted so they have to take it down before that happens

I don't think it's YT's policy that has been taking GEES' channels down.

He has a blog too, and once, his blog was almost taken down because of the content he got in his blog.

Why do people keep on reporting him and other fansubbers?

Well, there is a fanpage on facebook that's been thinking that fansubbers are harmful for JKT's fanbase. I don't know why they're thinking that way though ....

I think they are called JKTCyber, if they are concern about JKT why don't they just do subs for JKT shows? am i right? instead of causing mayhem and trouble why not try and help JKT gain more international fans, right? nothing good will come to JKT if they keep on doing that. THEY will just ruin JKT's image and fan base. not trying to come up as disrespectful towards other people but some Indonesian netizens do more harm than good in the cyber world, may it be online games, especially online games and in social media platforms. i had many fights with Indonesian people on Heroes Evolved and Mobile Legends (both are moba games), they keep on trash talking and disrespecting other people especially their nationalities (mostly against us Filipinos). If they keep on doing bad and stupid things online, i don't know what will happen to them in the future. As for subbers like GEES, i hope he/she would be able to overcome this so-called "Subbing Purge" as i call it, and be able to continue to sub for our favorite shows.

Yeah I agree.. I've been following Japanese idols since Hello Project golden days.. Without fansub, I doubt the whole idol scene would have such a fanbase internationally if weren't for the work of fansubbers.. This might be stretching it but I do believe and dare to say fansubs have a contribution to the formation of JKT.. Might not be directly but a role nonetheless

I used to follow JKT when Harugon was still there, JKT also has exposure inside Japan back then, but since they are no longer the only sister group outside Japan anymore, and since also the Sakamichi Series is also breaking the international fanbase especially Keyakizaka46 who is hot on AKB48G's trail, JKT has been pushed to the sideline, if only Indonesian fans would help JKT by promoting them internationally (instead of doing stupid things) by providing subtitles to English speaking fans, then JKT would still be hanging on. There are JKT shows that I like to watch, I once watched JKT's first movie, someone subbed it, it was funny, but, that's it, after that no one subbed other JKT shows. So, long story short, you are right, subbers DO HAVE a role in making idol groups to be known internationally, take KPOP Groups for example, there are tons of fansubbers there, they even help each other (sometimes) when their respective groups collab on variety shows, dramas, movies, etc. So, instead of destroying the subbers hardwork, why don't they help each other, or ask for help, since there are also many Indonesian subbers that makes English subs, why not do that, right? GEES did not do something wrong or the other subbers, so why pick on them, there are tons of fake subbing sites, that just copy other subbers work and use to them to make a profit by using ad.fly. They should be the one that needs to be taken down not those legit subbers.

Those JKT fans sound like dickheads.

But Japanese companies have always aggressively removed IP from the internet. Whether it's 48G, Sakamichi, Hello Project, Stardust, also Anime, drama, music, movies. It all gets aggressively taken down. Sometimes videos fly under the radar for awhile especially old stuff or low quality rips but they almost always get dealt with eventually. That's just how Japanese companies work. Back in the day when I followed Hello Project, subbed video uploads would often get removed on the same day . I doubt one JKT fan page on Facebook is responsible for it.

The reason why subbers get taken down is not because they make fansubs it's because they post full episodes online. If subbers just did softsubs or text-only translations, and not hardsubs/streams, then they would probably be ignored.

That's surprisingly short-sighted. A show like Kakenai which is dependent on the audience in Japan at the time of airing for advertising Yen is in no way adversely effected by subbers who produce their work days or weeks after the original airing. In fact quite the opposite these fan subs help to promote the idol groups beyond Japan at no cost to the management company. Maybe there is some small argument for a show like KeyaBingo which they release a DVD for, but since they don't provide English subtitles even that argument would be pretty weak sauce.

if that is the case then how come there are still old videos of AKBINGO and Nemousu lying around somewhere on the internet? same goes for the first seasons of Majisuka Gakuen. and for anime and dramas, i can still watch old shows from sites that provide animes and dramas respectively. if ever Japanese companies are responsible for shutting down sites, they, of course, will announce it to keep everyone aware that doing things like that is illegal, but so far no companies take legal actions unless someone told them to. like i said earlier, take the KPOP community, for example, there are a bunch of sites that subs and uploads full shows but none of them have been taken down, some have been closed down on their own, but many are still standing.

Hence why I called it "surprisingly short-sighted", IDK the ins and outs of what is occurring and corporations can certainly be guilty of
dunder-headed behaviors, although those are usually in pursuit of money and shutting down what amounts to free promotional labor is not that.
You are probably correct in your assessment that it's bitter internet denizens with far too much time on their hands.

That's simply because they havent been found out yet. Most of these are hidden and burried on websites where you dont usually suspect them to be the uploaded, bruh, I found a freakin pornsite that streams full concert DVDs and Variety shows in HD by coincidence when I was trying to find torrents in google lel. And the pain of having to translate between chinese, japanese & english since only most chinese websites has them. Trust me, those videos you see on youtube, dailymotion, vimeo or other popular streaming sites will get taken down eventually, it's just a matter of how long until it's found out. Man it was a pain to search for video content, it exercised my stalking ability lol. Also the reason why kpop is popular internationally.

Koreans are not entirely strict with these (unlike Japan who shuts down everything in a second), cause they see it as a way of 'promoting' their country, they even sub them themselves sometimes on their main channel and in different languages! (I know this cause I've been in kpop for 8 years now btw).

I'm not saying its a good thing I'm just saying its how Japanese companies operate. You can't just blame it on a handful of JKT-oshi jerks. Japanese companies have been behaving this way before JKT even existed, before even AKB was popular. There was an awesome series of videos on Youtube called "Know Your Musume" that I watched multiple times. Is it there anymore? Nope. Japanese companies ARE famously short-sighted when it comes to digital content, they still operate on a hard-copy only mindframe. They'll even take down their OWN content. Momoiro Clover Z's official Youtube channel had a ton of awesome high-def live videos for a little while, and then they took them down. Why? Because they just release a new live blu-ray.

And its really not just Japanese companies. American companies do it too. SNL is a variety show that has a reputation for being particularly harsh with fan-uploaded streaming content, even content that wasn't available elsewhere. Try putting up a Game of Thrones episode and see how many minutes before it gets taken down. And not every country has access to HBO.

I don't like it but don't think that one Indonesian facebook group is the cause for our woes.

It still could be a possibility that other group oshis are reporting each other....46g vs 48g? a tooth for a tooth? but again they never consider how each subbers' group would feel, its a hassle to be taken down, especially their blog, thats why others got lazy putting up and making creative site blogs and just leave it simple...other quit and sometimes making a new name. this applies to other groups as well.

we may never find out who are these people that keeps on reporting subbers to higher ups to be taken down, but also, we hope these subber wont give up on loving their fans
(People who can't 100% understand Japanese),as well as their work. probably 100% of support to subbers will do, and also, we can always give them a hand when needed.

Let's just hope that these reporters number will lessen down, like, never report again? :D

And hey, whos excited for another episode of Keyakitte and Keyabingo(next week) can't wait for these two shows to be watched, and heads up for their showrooms as well :D

On another note, does anyone know if there is a way to get Japanese subs of Sakamichi content? Like do Keyakitte, Nogichuu, Bingo, etc. do closed captioning and is there a way to get that in a text file?

there are few Korean broadcasting companies that provide subtitles for their international fans (KBS), those you see on YT are just tidbits of shows (MBC, SBS). the rest you find are works of fans that subs shows where their idols appeared on. some are dedicated fans that subs the whole show (Family Outing, Running Man, Knowing Brother, WGM, etc.). I tried to watch other Korean variety shows with subs but i can't find any, even the sites i usually visits to watch, tried ODK but you need to be in America to access it. So, not all Korean Broadcasting Companies do subs, i know, i have been a Kpop fan since SNSD debuted and mostly a Koreaboo before i got into the Japanese idol scene.

On the other note, let's just hope that whoever is causing this subbing purge gets tired and realize that they are just wasting their time doing it, because subbers will never die, but they will just multiply. hahahah! get it? i made a 2PAC reference there. *coughs* anyways let's just keep on supporting and cheering those mighty subbers who always works hard to provide us subs for our favorite shows, and with that i bid you adieu, btw GEES already uploaded AKBINGO, so wait for KEYABI to be uploaded, have a wonderful day everyone! I'm gonna go and watch Nogidoko now. ひめた~~~~ん び~~~~~~~む!!!

I read at the AKBINGO forum that GEES might only do 1 show per week, so it means will have to wait longer for GEES to release not just only Saka shows but probably Keyaki shows, I hope that is not true though. Other than GEES, is there anyone who can do subs for Keyaki only here?

Yup, not all korean Companies sub them but it's nice to know that some of them do, even uploading them on full episodes! Korean fansubbers usually only sub the popular shows or the ones they like personally. Korean shows dont get released in DVDs, Boxsets, BlueRays etc. like they do with Japanese shows so I guess that's another point. Plus, the difference with the amount of international fans might also be a factor, lesser int fans, lesser manpower for subbing. Korean subbers also like to collaborate a lot, there's usually 5-10 in a team these days and they upload a subbed 2 hour show the next day after broadcast. (And yas, snsd for life <3)

Yeah, me too, I hope that that rumor is not true, but I'm sensing that it might come true since someone is out there taking down subbers, and probably because GEES might be getting tired. Let's all just hope that it's not true.
