I actually like Asuka when she smiles rather than when she is dark. The first time I really took note of her was in the Guam episode of Under Construction. Bananman dumped her out of the swim tube into the water so Asuka splashed water back at him, it was like a girl playing at the beach with her friends.

I thought she was really cute in that scene.

 

well she did say that she has tried to act like how an idol would back then, but ultimately decided to stop because it didn't suit her

Actually I feel that she is at her best these days, she looks so confident and she laughs a lot. I didn't notice her back then but now she is one of my favorite. Probably it's the result of her not trying to be someone else. Way to go, Ashu!!

thanks a bunch, i learn a lot about Asuka after watching this and the subs really helped.

i think her being bullied really contribute to her dark and gloomy personality, because people with a dark and negative personality usually doesn't have the greatest childhood memories, i know that from personal experience. another one is that i notice she's over-thinking on stuff, its only natural, a lot of people who read a lot of book or read anything really usually overthink on stuff. this girl turns out to be someone very interesting personality wise, and i really like her....

 

Big thumbs up and thank you for this. It's very interesting to learn more about the members, Asuka, especially. As Ikoma, Ikuta, and Shiraishi said she is the future ace.

I think that gap between how cute she looks and the darkness in her head is intriguing. I'm sure that's one of her appeals.

Dsspite not giving what the fans wanted, she still gave them a very bright smile. I think that's what captivates people regardless and the reason why she's still a top seller at HS.
