I haven't been catching up to their stages lately but has Aanya appeared in any of the Seifuku no Me stage? I remembered that she couldn't perform at the shonichi because of gastritis.

 

There's only been two so far, shonichi and Yuutan grad announcement. The next one is on the 20th iirc and I sincerely hope she's in the lineup.

Isn't Sanma like one of the Kings of Variety on Japanese TV? At least he's a pretty famous showhost.

 

He's one of the Big Three of Japanese TV comedians. The other two being Beat Takeshi and Tamori (Music Station etc.)

Well, the TV show she was on is to show this week. A small issue? Well, the theme of the show is "intelligent vs unintelligent" and she was invited on with two other half European girls.

There is every reason to fear that this whole show was organized to smear "non-pure-blood" girls as being stupid and inherently inferior to "pure" Japanese. Naturally by using the handful of half-Japanese who have overcome the harrassment and bullying to get any measure of fame and comparing them to the cherry-picked elite of the elite among the majority with only Japanese blood.

And nevermind the fact that these girls have been fluent in at least two languages since they were small children. That can't count for anything because most Japanese fail at that and it would damage their ego to admit any intelligence would be involved in that.

So while it would be nice to think that appearing on a high-profile show is nice, be warned that the very reason may be just to tear her down and crap on her and all those who aren't "pure".

Really, no matter how you look at it, Anna wouldn't have been invited on a show about intelligent vs nonintelligent to praise her, given her own personal comments about her intelligence. Given a wider view, she is definitely quite intelligent in several areas, just not in that narrow memorizing textbook area that "counts".
