I guess I understand about the MC type vs the hinadan type thing. Rikachan wasn't bad in this program but nothing close to outstanding either, maybe it was because she played the "cute/cunning" type of girl rather than the sharp-tongued one. It's very different to see her as a guest in these shows to her performance as MC. As for the other participants, I gotta point out again that Wakatsuki Chinatsu's skills really impress me (Okubo Kayoko was also there but still... maybe she's getting a bit rusty?) And about Nishino Miki... I didn't know she was being pushed in variety that much... She was funny in the episode—actually Ueda and the other guests did a good use of teasing her—and I happened to check her appearance in Sanma Goten too, where she didn't have the same performance, but once again Chinatsu (who was there as well) showed a great interaction with the participants and Sanma.

Speaking about Rikachan in YHS3C, I couldn't help but to compare her with that episode of Shukan AKB when Sasshi was MC.

Not again, Rika.

Rika was trying to accuse a fan of getting her personal contact so the fan would be kicked out of a handshake event. When the management found her accusation was BS, the fan went to Mion instead (this was a groupwide handshake).

 

Rika's performance on hinadan is really subpar, unfortunately. I guess, it's a flaw of her "shortcut variety education", where she's been made MC without spending years crawling up from the bottoms of hinadan. well, she still can become better with more experience.

Today, I'm going to talk about the bowling tournament which was held as NGT48's Thanksgiving event.

NGT48 has held many events so far, but even among those, wasn't this one of the best? Looks like when the event was announced, most people imagined that the members would compete with each other and the fans would cheer from afar. But—surprise!—it turned out to be a godly event where fans teamed up with their oshimen[1] and played together! The cooperation among members and fans is wonderful.

My fans that won the lottery and were selected to play... weren't in their best condition...? (laugh) The score was awkward... the final rank was awkward (16th place out of 28 teams). We shouted "Ei Ei Oh!" (like "Let's go!") before the game started but there was no synchronization at all. (laugh) How should I say, they were lacking of cooperativeness... just like me. Maybe it's true that fans tend to be like their oshimens. Moreover, because of my back pain, I had to play with a ball for kids, thrown through a crocodile slider, that was surreal... But I'm glad everyone seemed to have lots of fun.

The outcome, the team of Nanako-san (Nishimura Nanako)—known by her bad motor coordination—ended up last, as everyone must have predicted. (laugh) And the winner team was of Mofu-chan's (Murakumo Fuka)—wearing Puma's tracksuits and fully motivated. Her fans were all up for the game. I guess fans really are like their oshimens.

There is a lot of events going on in this summer! Let's make lots of memories along with NGT48 in the last summer of the Heisei era![2]

Previous weeks

Week 19 was basically recorded VTRs, not live broadcasts (It was also the week when Rikachan had gone to Russia for the shooting of NGT48's single). The first two days showed a Top 10 of the happenings so far. The remaining three days showed the footage of the camp trip (with quiz, barbecue, haunted house, camp fire, bungee jump) with the students, Sanshiro and Nobunaga. Rikachan didn't participate in the trip because she had to attend the TIF, thus only showing up in the camp at night for MC.

As a surprise, Aki-p gifted a song—this time to all the students—for them to sing it in chorus at the upcoming School Festival. The title is Yuuyake wa naze, isshun na no ka? ("Why does the sunset last only a brief moment?")


Week 20 continued to show, among other activities, the preparation of the students for the School Festival (to be held next Monday, 27th). Now they had less than a week to get ready.

"Satoshi" impressed with Rikachan's ability to set up a conte?


As a side note, the choreography of the song written by Aki-P for the students of the Dance & Vocal Club (unit). It happened to be harder than they had expected (something that resembles Exile's style?)
