As a professional 4846G fan stalker it's important to understand what the weather is like in Japan. Because it decides the outcomes of concerts, events and even single releases!

Sometimes you will also understand why your oshi is sad, happy, mellow, relaxed etc just simply because of the weather and you will feel in touch with them more.

And so this thread serves to give updates daily or randomly but especially when disasters do happen.

Sadly, NHK World is showing pictures of numerous damaged buildings in Abira Town, about 30-40 km SE of Sapporo and close to the epicentre.

Japan can't catch a break...on Tuesday, Osaka got hit by a typhoon (which caused the Kansai airport to shut down because the island got flooded!!!), and now, an earthquake that hit Hokkaido in the middle of the night (3:08 AM JST)!

This is already too much! Not to mention the heavy rain and mudslides in the Setouchi region (STU48?) back in July...one of the worst summers we've seen in Japan in terms of natural disasters?

We still have two and a half weeks of summer remaining!

Think all of the Hokkaido members are okay.

Yeah I saw some pics. Glad there is no tsunami as it hit in-land...

No death reports yet but at least 48 injured and 20 lost in contact

Hokkaido got hit by that same typhoon too. Just as it ravaged across the land at day then at midnight the earthquake stroked.

That Kansai disaster rainfall and flash floods was due to typhoon + monsoon rain combo (It literally rained for a week! Rivers and dams were at it's limits). And it has been listed as one of the most destructible natural disasters other than earthquakes in the Heisei period.

By the way Gainax actually endorsed this account for non-profit use of it's EVA pics and references. It's recognized officially as unofficial. Many 48G members and staff are also following it.

This account saved many lives since the Tohoku Earthquake 2011.

Whenever I search Twitter about the great disasters, I've seen some Japanese Pokemon fans referencing Groudon (for quakes) and Kyogre (for heavy rains).

Not gonna talk about wheater nor earthquake but there's Kamioka (literally means God's hill?), near Hida, Gifu. Where the most advanced astronomical facility in Japan is in.

    1. Super Kamiokande: to detect neutrino in sun and even earth atmosphere.
    2. KAGRA: to study gravitational wave. Detection of gravitational wave leading LIGO winning Nobel.
