Second part of the "The W" project. This time we see the the second half of the members' effort to prepare for the contest as well as some live footage from the first round. Surprisingly some of the girls actually proceeded to the second round, so there will be another episode about them next week.

I think she was probably just checking on Macharin's ability to improvise. Based on the subs she only asked for people's hometowns outside of Tokyo, she didn't specify it should be a Japanese town.
When you ask the audience questions and give funny reactions based on their answers, as a comedian you need to be able to act on the spot if the crowd answer with something unexpected.
Considering Macharin passed the 1st round despite getting points deducted for going over the time limit, it looks like she was well received nonetheless.

I didn't expect her to make it into the Top 10 because I can imagine the comedians that were there had been in the business for years and she'll probably need more experience to get there. That being said, the fact that she made it into the Top 38 is incredible!! I'm very happy for her and I hope she realises what an achievement this is soon.

Third and final part of this year's "The W" project. We'll see the final units in the first round and their efforts to survive the 2nd round. Will they top last year's result and actually send someone to the Semifinals?



Btw. I love the style of the dresses Hama and YuiYui wear for their performances. It's like the dresses my grandmother wore as a child 80 years ago. Really cool this style is now fashionable in Japan.

Sorry for the double post, but I wasn't satisfied with the timings of the previous subtitles, so I checked some tutorials and improved the timings. The link in my last post is edited.

 

Today's episode 522 is Bucchake Baseball.

I had to google "bucchake" and apparently it means "speaking one's mind and holding nothing back" which matches what we saw in the preview.

I am not sure if this will be a real team battle, but if it turns out to be one then I have no clue which team to root for. Both have some of my favorite members.
