And, actually, SB has announced its system will be differentiated from AKB48. Theaters and its xxx48 groups will be demoted to training grounds for trainees and top trainees will become fixed members of units. This means the election will be devalued hugely.

So, Team SH will do what SB is ceasing to do, will take over the market SB is leaving as it deems that market is becoming less profitable. SNH48 will be Team SH's rival no more.

Team SH will either hit jackpot as the sole player in the market and create a trend, or be "obsolete".

So far I know is Hunan TV is most popular channel, followed by CCTV1 and Zhejiang TV. Anhui, Jiangsu and Phoenix TV also seem to be more popular. Online platforms such as IQIYI and Tencent seem to be very popular among the youth.

I don't think 6m is that big of a number for China.

Anyway, as this is Team SH, to go to Dragon TV, whose base is in Shanghai, looks about right.

 

one thing they can do to “adapt” to the K*** nature of the industry is probably decreasing senbatsu members to 12 members and invest more on training. I’m pretty sure the “Idol you can meet” concept will still sell, especially in such market

One question: any idea why they decided to go for Shanghai again instead of Beijing? Idk much abt Chinese entertainment industry but it looks like most of the entertainment activities are done in Beijing, so wouldn’t it be more strategic? And let’s face it, going head-to-head with BEJ48 will be MUCH easier than with SNH48

 

That’s why I think they should just make Team BJ, Team GZ, etc happen now that they trademarked it

SNH48 is a whole brand (literally like the AKB48 franchise in China) while Team SH is just 1 group

So basically the only real factor I see Team SH having over SNH48 is if they end up with stan attractors that SNH48 don’t pull in

Seems like AKBC got in a bit of trouble. It's my understanding that the person that runs the Team SH Weibo implemented some kind of bot to post comment submissions from fans on the account, but the bot also posted negative submissions as well so they had to release an apology. The summary I read was Google translated from Japanese so I'm not 100% sure if that's what happened.

I meant to reply to this, but, I also mentioned it before: they made their MV story to be their actual trip to Japan a literal meaning of a Love Trip. That's why it's documentary style, Team SH's trip to Japan is made of love.

From the lyrics displayed, I don’t see anything wrong? Or that could be controversial? The damn promotion voice was so distracting though so I didn’t hear a single thing from the second half of the song.

From the one time I saw Shonichi’s English translation lyrics, they are quite similar from what I remembered. Not word for word but that’s expected of a translation.

 

Why fans in weibo are so sensitive with shonichi lyrics they ask for a change... if the translation is not bad what is the problem
