evil Cherprang is evil. my plus and minus after watching few times + the twist at end where the people they fight are reflection of themselves + fight choreo is very good + villain is very badass (YOUNGOHM according to credits). - "In your position, set" does not sound strong enough - don't really like the white costume.
for me the MV was boring yes the message is great etc... but is not an MV I want to rematch the in you position set is weak even my cat can scream better than that. anyway the girls are beautiful gosh... my only hope is the MV of undergirls
I’m obsessed. I’ve been rewatching it for the past 2 hours. I keep noticing new things each time. I actually love the seifuku, and scrolling through Twitter, it seems a lot of people did as well. Only thing is I wish there was a longer full story version. 8/10 for me.
The only thing that was off for me is the same as others, that "In Your Position, Set." It was very cringey even if Cherprang is my main Oshi. Everything else? I loved! I just couldn't formulate words on my comment on the MV so I just said "#speechless" lol
they did raise the bar for international shimai gurupu to another level. LMAO. its ridiculous!. didnt expect that twist at the end. "the biggest enemy is yourself". + this songs sounds really good in Thai. even tho i dont understand a word they say. welldone BNK48. (the fact that they dont have a typical beauty shoot with close up , but using the fight scene to show individual members are quite something ) members who looks gr8=Cher,Music,Mobile
As @reddertar mentioned, it was Jennis (following Takamina’s original position). But I agree, it sounded way too sweet/calm. If there was one flaw, this would be it. Maybe she’s trying to go for a different vibe, but I’m so accustomed to hearing Takamina’s version, so Jennis’s version sounded strange at first.
@Idol-chan_Spiffy Now that I listen to it over and over, I think she’s (Jennis) trying to go with a cool & sexy feel (in keeping with her ‘character’ image), rather than the deep voice/shout/intimidation route of AKB. If they wanted a deeper/stronger voice, Cherprang would have been much more suitable. I think it only sounds off to us because we are used to AKB’s version and have it on our head that it’s “supposed to sound like this” or that it must go the strong, deep route. However, for the majority of Thai wotas, they haven’t heard the original so it doesn’t sound off to them. That’s the problem with doing pre-existing songs, they’re always be compared with the original and people will have it in their head that the original is the “correct” way to do it. Seeing the MV, it seems BNK isn’t just trying to go only with the badass route 100% like AKB/JKT. It seems they’re also trying to incorporate a girly/sexy/girl-crush vibe in it as well, hence the pink seifuku & dance moves. That’s kind of how I see it at least from the MV & also from what the members have said about the MV concept.
This is not a 100% accurate word-by-word translation. I change some words to make it flows better. Hope you get the idea "Let me introduce myself that I'm your darkness. I'm in the deepest of your heart. I won't let you get to make the fame. If y'all hesitate. I know that you are afraid to fail. Even though your desire is to get the fame. Fear holds you from the happiness. And I'm the Fear that waiting for you to defeat." I think the fame-thing is more like a metaphor of being success. Fun Fact: The guy who is featuring in this MV is YOUNGOHM. He's rising star and one of the most popular modern rapper in Thailand(Someone will strongly disagree with me for this, lol). He's got to be featured everywhere. And most of the MV that got him feature can easily break millions of views on YouTube (He had 3 MVs that break 100m views). So, seeing him here with BNK48 is pretty weird. but I love what he's doing here. ps. He's only 19 yo though.
AKB MV wasn't even badass though. I was slightly surprised too as I watched the live performances before watching the MV. if the video does not show watch the video here
@Wade & Wander Oh! Thank you so much for that explanation! You're right, I am clouded by AKB's/JKT's versions and I am not seeing it through the lenses of the Thai. I appreciate this and I will be more open to this moving forward.
It finally surpassed 1 million views after 18 hours. I think if they released it earlier during the day, like at noon, instead of 10PM, it would have reached 1 million much sooner (e.g. maybe 8-10 hours). @Idol-chan_Spiffy Glad to hear! I have to admit, I've also gotten so used to AKB's version. But looking at the Thai comments, this is their first time hearing any version of this song so it didn't sound off to them, so it got me thinking that a lot of it had to do with my own preconceived notion as well.
