Did they all become first gen Hinatazaka or are they keeping their gen designations when they were still Gana? Will the next gen members that will enter in the future then become 2nd Gen or 4th Gen?

I’m sure I know the answer but just wondering as the wiki needs updating.

The official site separates members into generations, and even the members do: Suzuka (who's a year older) calls Memi "Memi-san" in her blog. The 2gens add -san to all the 1gens, but not to other 2gens. I personally don't like that, but it's part of Japanese culture, and seems to work for them.

 

I am not sure but I think they do that when working together since hierarchy needs to be observed no matter the age. I want to believe that they aren't like that with each other during their private times

 

Many 1st gen also add "-san" when they call/write KAWADA name.

Nope. NHK explained that the show format does not reach the fans anymore. Fans want less music shows more variety and information shows. The Sakamichi episodes are only for airing already produced material.
