Point 1: What prayers? The "Inori wa" in there is actually a reference to Hokori no Oka's unit song, for everyone's information.
The transcript of the December 20 mobame, from which that summary is based on, has already been spread around and can be found here. It reads as it follows.
Marina

Today I got a LINE message from Marina
Anyway, the content inside was so good, and I absolutely agreed with it.
Marina gave me help right from the morning.
It's really like that.
Prayers can make any future happy. ["Inori wa donna mirai wo shiawase ni kaeru"]
Today's unit song is the last, huh!!
Those lyrics, I can quite relate to them when there's something unpleasant happening. (laugh)
It puts me in the mood to be the happiest as possible and sing with the most fun.
The lyrics and the dance, how amazing they are.
Let's go.
---

Point 2: If you open this thread and look at the general reactions to the mail Tano sent the day before, on December 19, it also makes it obvious that it was the turning point when some realized that the issue Maho had wasn't actually with Nakai, as it was initially believed, but it rather concerned Tano and Nishigata.
http://awabi.2ch.sc/test/read.cgi/akb/1545059253
Too bad that I have never found it worth it to subscribe to Tano's mobame (much less today, the AnshinAnzen 7 are the only ones I'd possibly keep spending money on), because it would have helped me doing a cross-check much sooner. But in any case, if anyone cares to provide me with a transcript of that mail as well, I'm sure we'll find out more foreshadowings, just as it happened with Maho's Tweets and mobame from back in December.
I find it funny there's people still believing that the January 8 disclosure was where it all began, and the case wasn't already bubbling under the surface for a whole month already in more or less obvious ways...

Speaking of that same thread, later on there's also actually a good reminder that people had noticed something was oddly off with the interaction between Maho and Tano at Tsugumin's Seitansai, which if anything proves exactly the opposite point, that things between them went anything but well by then. Let's not forget that the reason Maho even bothered to show up in there at all wasn't certainly because of the good terms between them, but expressedly for the sake of Tsugumin.
---

Point 3: I'll skip translating the whole thing, but it's never too late to point out that on the occasion of Maho's, Riko's and Rena's graduation announcement, a whole page of the AKB48 Shinbun issue from the same month was dedicated to three opinion pieces on the case by three different journalists.
D5IMrx1UcAEP10f.jpg orig.jpg
Most of that can be dismissed as an attempt at "pressure relief" on part of the management by indirectly admitting to their own faults -- just a low-key form of "sontaku" if you will -- and the opinions inside are nothing that the public hadn't been expressing long in advance. On the other hand, what caught everyone's attention was actually one passage right in the middle of the article by Setsu Shinya, which is the uppermost one, revealing this:

«Prior to the disclosure that happened in January, at the end of the past year, under the supervision of the previous theater manager, Imamura Etsuro, a verbal argument took place between Yamaguchi and one of the suspected members. I may understand his feelings of a "parent" acting to mediate between the two "daughters", but the utmost priority wasn't given to the psyche of Yamaguchi, who had lived through such a terrifying experience. The responsability for it is grave.»

Now -- apart from wondering why this wasn't brought up anywhere except offhandedly in a limited-edition insert -- you can try putting on the timeline when this Imamura-sponsored deathmatch happened, combine it with Maho's mobame from the same time and feel free to guess what the consequences of it would be. If anything it makes it more obvious that Tano, acting as a child as she usually does, simply escalated with the provocations afterwards thinking she had her way... Some of them are way too obvious to pretend it's just a result of misunderstanding, too.

Also, combine it with what Matsumura said at the opening of the AKS conference, in regards to the absolute state of NGT and his decision to give everyone a pardon, which other than being unwise, it infamously only precipitated the situation irreparably:
https://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20190322-00010002-wordleaf-soci&p=2

"But that aside, I'd like to hand out a pardon for what it concerns all the cases of morality breakdown, such as disparaging abuses from a members towards another, and this includes also all the instances of consorting with fans on a private level which happened until now inside NGT48. To explain why, it's that the one being answerable for it is our own company, for the inedaquate condition of the management of the organization and the chain of command, as well as the fact we did not indicate to the members and the staff any clear standards to follow, before this case, nor did we provide them any appropriate guidance."

Emphasis on what "mutual insults between members" could even point at, in this case...
---

Side note: Honestly I find it laughable that there's someone, especially at this point in time, who is still taking those excuse tweets as real, or even assume them as written by the members themselves -- the cat was "sick" in the same way as both Tano and Nishigata suddenly "felt uncomfortable living this last month", enough they needed to both write that down in their own declaration (Tano in particular clearly felt so uncomfortable she happily spent the New Year in Taiwan, for one thing). With any chance, just like how everything was heavily controlled and manipulated by the management especially right at the beginning, the one who wrote them was the same genius who wrote Maho's original apology for her to recite at the Third Anniversary stage (we all know his name already, so no need to repeat it here).
At least I can tell that AKS has got a little bit better at writing up excuses for other members to post, what with the one they had to make for Yahagi some days ago, by the looks of it.

In regard to her photolog posts, only the two from Jan 7 remain unexplained. The rest were deliberately stripped of context and spread around.

Obviously the situation between them was increasingly strained and Tano is far from mature, but that doesn't mean every single word she wrote was related to the case.

You'd think they would have figured that out sooner, like when Maho explicitly told them it had nothing to do with Nakai.

And this plays into some possible intra-AKS rivalry, Akimoto using his connections to get agencies for Maho and Rena while the current AKS management are in the dark?

Wow even after everything Maho is still advocating for others. What an amazing, empowering person.

So glad they are getting the support they deserve. I was worried they would be blacklisted for “going against their management”, but it seems like the opposite is happening.

It's time to put my two cents. Yamaguchi Maho destroyed NGT, my favorite group.
I can only have negative feelings towards her, the other girls in the group must hate her.

I feel what happened to her was awful, but how is that NGT's FAULT?!

I'm pretty sure she just thinks someone gave the guys her address, but the girls left the apartment complex 1 year before? It doesn't match, maybe she's just paranoid.

Again, what happened to her is awful, but that's not 48's fault or problem if it happened outside of working hours. She knew this could go big and bad for her group and still decided to blame them basically for whatever and only suspicious thoughts. Now a lot of people are paying the consequences, workers of NGT, the girls, other 48 groups.

I've been super mad about it for a while I can't believe AKS is paying for something they have nothing to do about. Damn this is so frustrating.

It has been learned from an interview with the police investigation personnel that an unemployed man (52) with no permanent residence, previously arrested back in May by the Niigata Police Department on charges of violation of weapons law, confessed that "I was meaning to kill the man who denigrated (idol group) NGT48 members". The police is inspecting into the matter, regarding there are also charges of premeditated murder attempt.
発表などによると、男は5月23日午前11時頃、新潟市中央区笹口の路上で、正当な理由なく刃物(刃渡り約10センチ)を所持した疑いで現行犯逮捕された。「刑務所に入りたい」と交番に出頭してきたという。
According to the communication, on 11PM of May 23, the man was arrested on the act on charges of wielding a bladed weapon (about 10 cm long) for no justifiable reason, while on the streets of Sasaguchi, central district fo Niigata. It is told he turned up to the police station saying "I want to go to prison".
県警の調べに対し、男はインターネット上でNGT48メンバーを中傷した男性に殺意を抱いたと説明し、「自宅を探して殺そうと思った」と供述しているという。
Based on police's inspections, the man explained he carried murderous intents toward a man who denigrated NGT48 members on the Internet. "I was thinking of searching for his home and killing him", he declared.

---
Got a bit curious about why this is only reported by Yomiuri Shinbun on a national level, and made available only to subscribers to boot, thus limiting its spread around. Note, for instance, the constrast with a recent article on the case going on a tirade to condemn the Interwebs and the people therein for "going to far" with an "excess of justice", or the way stuff like that presumed fax to Ogino was shouted from the rooftops on every possible media outlet, all in order to build up a narrative of "we watched with arms folded, but we are victims too" (only to be hopelessly shattered by Katomina's mistake right on the same day).
On a second thought, maybe I have got half an idea of why this isn't reported at all. Niigata Nippo's article, also in a limited area for whatever reason, also mentioned the suspect by name...

https://www.niigata-nippo.co.jp/sp/news/national/20190612475790.html

On the 12th, the Niigata local prosecutor office have initiated a lawsuit for violation of the weapon possession laws and premeditated murder against the suspect Kan Masaaki (52), unemployed and with no fixed residence, previously arrested and prosecuted on charges of violation of the weapons possession laws.
Kan was reported as having carried with himself a bladed weapon inside the city of Niigata, and on May 23rd he was arrested while on the act by the police department. He told that he bought the bladed weapon with the purpose of murdering a man in his twenties, who had made derogatory remarks about the idol group NGT48.
地検は殺人予備罪を加えたことについて、「特定の人に殺意を持って、刃物を購入したことが分かった」とした。
On the reason the local prosecutor offices added grounds for premeditated murder attempt, they explained "It's because we have learned that he purchased that bladed weapon specifically after carrying murderous intents against a specific person".
起訴状などによると、関被告は男性を殺害しようと考え、5月10日、東京都内の大型小売店で刃渡り約10センチのペティナイフ1本を購入。
Based on the document of indictment, Kan considered murdering the man and on May 10 he went to buy a small-sized knife with a 10 cm long blade at a supermarket in Tokyo.
同23日、新潟市中央区の笹口交番で、正当な理由なくペティナイフ1本を携帯していたとされる。
On the 23rd of the same month, at the Sasaguchi police station in Niigata's central district, he was reported as wielding a similar small knife for no justifiable reasons.
新潟署によると、関被告は「仕事を辞め、行くところがない。逮捕してほしい」と笹口交番に出頭した。
According to the Niigata department, Kan turned in to the Sasaguchi police station saying "I have quit my job, I have nowhere to go, I wish to be arrested".

And the first thing you notice is a guy with matching name and interests, who as it turns out has an Instagram profile with Ogino's catchphrase for an username, of all things, go figure... Yeah, better to sweep these things under the rug and keep them from being known around before it ruins your plans.

Lmao so the girls, workers and mngmnt of NGT sent her an assaulter just for fun?

What she says doesn’t make sense, she obviously messed it up and couldn’t go back.

People believing her 100% are the kind of people that would send an innocent man just because a girl says he did something.

The third party said garante and Ayakani were innocent, again, what happened to Maho is not NGT’s fault.

I don't get where you took this from, but nobody involved has claimed anywhere that they sent anyone "for fun", much less Maho, if you are indeed arguing based on that wrongful premise ad absurdum. It's not like she can go back on something she has never denounced in the first place, hein?
The problem here from the beginning is a leak of informations, only supposed to be known within the group, which endangers other members, stemming from some members being too intimate with certain fans for everyone's good.
Also, for another thing, according to Hayakawa's unasked-for series of tweeted excuses, Tano purportedly moved out only after last July (though if you read the voice recording transcipts published by Shincho, God knows how they leaked, it appears that not even the other members living on the same floor knew she had moved out at all, mysteriously enough!). I dare say it's your understanding of the situation that doesn't make much sense.

I'm not going in detail over this again, but for another thing, the third-party concludes with a gray-zone statement that, according to the police (based on what communication they received from the police and what research they performed, we don't get to know), "no indication of connivance in the incident could be physically determined" (which also misses the whole point of Maho's denounciation, as I have specified above).
I know it's much shorter and easier to say "innocent" or "not involved" (the way Matsumura wrongly put it at the press conference, because he's illiterate and grabbed the document likely one hour before without reading it) but it's not the same thing: it's not the police's job, duty, or even concern to check how much these members are intimately connected with the yakkais in their private life, enough to let private informations of themselves or others to be shared. Nor has the police released any statements about it, which makes you wonder... In itself this does not a constitute a crime, that's why, but that is an internal agency policy that should have been enforced in a strict way, nonetheless.
That was supposedly what the management should have done, at least, but instead at the conference they gave a plenary indulgence (the infamous "fumon") right off the bat, followed up by stating that they aren't about to conduct any further research on the matter on their own, only going with "communication".

The police's duty is to search for criminal charges, and the only crime that they can be charged with in such a situation is "complicity in crime" apparently, which is indeed the only charge they are declared "innocent" of in that report. That doesn't mean to prove they are not involved privately with the attackers or they didn't provide informations verbally (considering the closeness) or otherwise, it simply means you didn't participate in the planning of the assault itself.
As an example of it, at Page 11 in the same report member A (Otsuka Nanami?) went on to confess that stupidly (or maybe not) she let attackers know about informations regarding Maho's time schedule, who was on the bus (as well as suggesting how best to "get to meet with Maho" on top of that, going by the voice recording transcipt published by Shincho), which helped out the attackers perform their ambush, but in the end even for her it was ruled that "no indication of connivance in the incident between A and the attackers can be determined".
So apparently as long as you aren't aware there was an assault involved your conscience is clean and you aren't answerable for your misdeeds, cool. Long live irresponsibility and indifference for others, which is particularly laughable for a group that has put on airs of cohesion until January.

The most I can concede is invoking plausible deniability, but looking into the intimate connections these members have with these fans, they are far from being clean and innocent. Pages 21-22 of the reports tells me this:
According to [the committee's] examination hearings conducted with the members, on the basis of the word "self-consciousness” as an affiliated entertainer -- that is, as an "idol you can meet" --, there is an understanding by the members that having direct personal contacts with fans on a private basis is forbidden, and it is understood by them that transgressing it will constitute a severe violation [of the contract].

- Consorting (or cases suggesting it)
As told above, associating directly with fans on a private basis is forbidden, yet during this case's examinations it could be noticed that a group of members, in response to the approaches by a small portion of fans, went to maintain personal contact with them on a private basis, however, and this is not on a "rumor" level, but as concrete facts.
To cite examples of it, that was, in the ways as follows:
1) How there has been member(s) being accosted for a talk by the man considered to be Man #3 and holding conversations with him without exercising any restraint. In addition, these details have to do with the actions and movements of many other members at the present given moment.
2) That there are member(s) who had been meeting up individually with Man #3 various multiple times already in the past.
3) How, regarding the process through which the number of Yamaguchi's apartment came to be known to him, Man #1 related that he asked about it to various members much in advance. (as documented by audio recording data [note: of the park conversation, etc., submitted to the third-party committee] relative to the incident at hand; the same applies for points 4 to 6)
4) How Man #1 went on to bring up the names of certain specific member(s) in saying that they were possibly aware that the situation in the incident at hand would have occurred.
5) How -- stemming from how he had been, among other things, meeting up with other member(s) privately inside of such apartment building already even before that point -- Man #1 thus, as a logical extension of this, stated that at the moment of Yamaguchi returning home at the conclusion of the theater show, he decided to go speak up to her while inside of the building because he thought it more preferable than having talks on the outside.
6) How Man #1 made assertions referring to how there have been member(s) that he had previously consulted with about getting to Yamaguchi's apartment in order for him to talk with Yamaguchi.
7) How, following the incident in question, there have been several members who voluntarily confessed to having been consorting with fans before.

To be clear, as for the points 3 to 6, albeit it is true that there have been open declarations left by Man #1, since Man #1 wasn’t present to respond to the hearings of this committee, we couldn’t have his own confirmation of the real intentions. or accuracy thereof.
Turns out that I am not the only one whose attention was drawn to point 2 of that list. It's not a confession made by the perpetrators, and it's not something that was extracted from the conversation recordings, so it can only follow that it was one or more members that had confessed this? Evidently even Matsumura was evasive to find an appropriate answer to it.
Also on Page 22 there is also this suggesting, at the very least, precedents of sorts (and the subsequent inaction):
Relationship between "consorting" and NGT48's management:

- Recognition and response by the previous theater manager
Regarding "consortings", that is members and one portion of fans having direct associations with each other on a private basis as it was written above, there are elements which would indicate that the previous theater manager, as well as the member's managers, recognized it already to a sure extent (even including, among others, cases in which they have been informed of it at second hand by other members). In one of such cases, even though an investigation seems to have been conducted on it, no due formal measures were taken afterwards, while for the rest of the cases, there are no traces to be found that any active examinations or responses even took place.
On Page 9 it was relayed that: "Yamaguchi has been informed from the Niigata police department's officiers, among other things, how, beyond the building in question, Man #1 had been borrowing rooms inside three other building complexes across Niigata, one of which being the same building in which C resided.". Gee, I wonder why a 25-years-old yakkai with no job needs so many rooms in the same city.
That was only what went on the record, what was left off the papers (and Maho knew because she complained about it), she exposed it while the AKS conference was underway:
And that's only what they are willing to officially acknowledge at this point, since the stuff circulating on Bunshun is not to be taken without a pinch of salt...

I'll leave out any comments on the notion that a company dealing with idols, the large majority of which are minors, has no responsability for their private safety so they are innocent and didn't do anything wrong. If they can't even provide safe housing, safe security, and safe management in spite of predatory fans such as the ones who committed today's crime, then everyone has all the right in the world to treat them as a travesty, stay away like the plague, and decide they aren't worth investing money (especially public one) in until they get their shit together.
You shouldn't bamboozle girls into joining your group bragging that "the city of Niigata and all their government associates has in the past offered their collaboration in many aspects of NGT48 activities" for the members accommodations (that is from the 2nd generation auditions announcement), only to let them live in death traps with yakkais with connections with members living on the same damn floor. Nor should you lie by explaining that the attackers just figured out Maho's location from the time schedule alone, and propose security buzzers as a safety measure (that was AKS's initial statement on the case back in January), for fear that you would lose face if people knew about the truth.
I dare say that today's incident was the moment everyone realized after ages that the king is naked, in fact.
Evidently the third-party report, for how shoddy it is, failed to convince anyone because the near totality of the show and commercial contracts were actually cancelled after it was released, not before. Just stop and think about it, huh.

Besides, looking at your (meager, for claiming to be an NGT48 fan) 21-posts history here: don't worry, Nakai isn't affected by this and appears on TV pretending nothing happened, so don't cry about it. AKS doesn't seem to care about their affiliated members in the same way and sees them as expendable meat, but hey you admitted as much yourself.

I only posted it for how hilarious it is since it happened while the management was trying to score sympathy for Ogino, actually, not to make any serious points. Make no mistake.

That moron with the knife isn't a fan or even slightly related to the case. Who goes to the effort of buying a knife, going to the city where apparently your target lives with the intent to kill them, and then goes into the police station asking to be arrested?

Someone who wants to go to prison. AKA a guy too scared of being homeless but on the way out of a job.

Everyone posting here is an angry fan. Angry that this has been allowed to happen because of horrible mismanagement willingly ignoring their idols hanging out with low-life criminals.

He's acting like a troll because he is blatantly refusing to accept even a modicum of logic, only blaming the victim of an assault for destroying a group (which hasn't been disbanded at all and probably won't be to be honest) and hurting a company which allowed criminals and sexual predators access to idols he claims to love. Being called a troll is the kindest thing one could assume in this situation.
Wow even after everything Maho is still advocating for others. What an amazing, empowering person.

So glad they are getting the support they deserve. I was worried they would be blacklisted for “going against their management”, but it seems like the opposite is happening.
I know it made me respect her more and i hope a lot of great things will come to her.
