Yuiyui's finish was maybe the weakest I saw so far. I didn't believe for a second she was gonna make it, however, the updates were funky again - I'm pretty sure that "in real time" she fell to 4th much sooner. It didn't really matter though, the gap was super small anyway and her fans should have been sending gifts no matter what if they wanted to be sure.

What the hell happened with NMB? They'll for sure do a clean sweep for number 1, even with several unpopular member
Oh wait look at that, they only have 1 representative for each age group. Makes more sense now...not quite though.

 

They did the opposite of Team 8. Their managament only allowed one girl per event (except over 22 with two), maximizing their chances. Take a look at the 17-18 one. If Team 8 didn't have that many girls that had absolutely no chance of winning, maybe all the gifts and stars that were thrown at them could've helped Yuiyui to make it to top 3. Not to mention that Team 8 had two top members in the 18-19 and 17-18 events, dividing their points.
NMB picked the ones that are tall, model-like, and every NMB fan gave them their gifts and stars, and they were only six.

 

That white tiger is not yuiyui's friend. She even had a jawa from hokkaido in the afternoon stream.

 

They had had 7 days and 21 hours to show and prove they are stronger than Yuiyui's now they say "oh how unlucky we didn't throw 30 towers in the last 5 seconds"?

 

basically it's a difference between "just" doing things and between doing things "professionally"

1. they focus on one member
2. the other members are fully aware and support the one member by all means (voting function in SR so you cannot send them gifts/stars, promotion through SNS, streaming together... you can see my earlier post in the Team 8 topic for an example)
3. the chosen ones usually have pretty flexible schedule which allows them to build the most effective stream schedule. They also are familiar with what the most effective stream schedules actually are.
4. as the management seem to be also on board with this "project", their schedules are not suddenly full of random work
5. the fans are understanding the rules and are diligently sending as many rounds of stars as they can (even if with the help of various tools)
6. MONEY! You cannot win without money, but they are maximizing the free points to lessen the burden.

Just looking at the Top 100 pages, NMB seems to have the highest percentage of free points (and thus, the lowest Top 100 scores). A site that tracks towers thrown only recorded 68 towers for Rinachii in her final stream, vs. 309 for Miku, 269 for Miu, and 150 for Yuiyui. Of course that doesn't include kuma towers and such.

There was a thread in the Japanese wotasphere complaining about the usage of macros and how it's statistically impossible for the number of NMB fans watching at a given time to throw the number of stars that are thrown during that time. With that said, does Showroom forbid macros? I only saw stuff about multiple accounts.

The differences in top 100 contributors of Cocona and Hina are absolutely insane. Hina must have several millions on Cocona just from that, yet she still trails many more millions in the end. Also, it didn't really matter in the end, but the fact STU 2nd gens started their SRs in the middle of this last event was not very cooperative. Not something NMB would have done for sure!

And when we're at that - congratulations AKB4 for 0 spots (and not even being close to any of them)! Their biggest chances in U16 were successfully destroyed by the management scheduling so even an Eito who joined the group 3 months ago could nonchalantly overtake someone like Manaka and almost Erii
