Owada Nana (Naanya) / 15th Generation

Yeah I think AKB shows stopped attracting outsiders since end of 2012. I think a big one was MG3 - it was too insider for outsiders to find interesting. Since then most AKB shows haven't lured new fans. I think part of the reason is too much fakery and coaching compared to the original members who just acted natural. I don't think over reaction or planned reaction will interest non AKB fans to become fans.

can someone explain what dendenmuchu means? was just wondering. is it a sub-unit?

I felt bad at first about how she didn't rank higher, then I realized, heck she could have been like Nishino Miki...

@Time007 Yes, Denden Muchu! is a sub-unit consisting of members: Owada Nana, Tanaka Miku, Yabuki Nako, Mukaichi Mion, Murayama Yuiri, Taniguchi Megu, and Kawamoto Saya; the meaning of the name is a kind of snail, the name is usually spelled Den Den Mushi but they just added a "chu" at the end instead; Mushi means insect.

Just like how Tentoumu Chu! is also a sub-unit and the meaning of the name is Lady bug.


Also if you look at their poses (symbol on their hand), it kind of looks like a snail.

I am disappointed with Naanya's rank also. I hope they didn't mix up Naanya's vote and give them to Okada only one letter different! Anything is possible

While the sound very close, as you can see the Kanji is quite different. Not to mention when you enter votes, you select members by team. Team A for Naanya, Team 4 for Okada.

Well she's obviously a native japanese....she never needed english subtitle when watching something in japanese
Otherwise she should know the meaning of the word
