Iwata Karen (Karen) / 12th Generation

i know this happened months ago but i havent been keeping up with akb lately. but its quite funny how karen appears to be getting work. a lot of the lower ranking members graduating isnt so bad anymore, i mean for their career. it used to be the girls graduated and they either fell off the face of the earth either by choice etc or they couldnt maintain the media appearances they had prior to graduation. but karen seems to be hanging in there wow. very cool. i bet she makes more money than she did at akb anyways. i bet she works less hours too and has an easier life. very cool to see her doing well, even seventh months later.

she had lots of personality and funny acts and voices but it never resulted in votes or facetime in videos but in variety she had a ton of apperances. im glad she got in with hori pro at least now hopefully she gets a decent salary. i mean something liveable that can keep her fed for her career.

 

In the end, it depends on the girls themselves in whether they can get a job or not. The thing about senbatsu members is that, they are mostly given jobs by the management more that non-senbatsu members, and that makes some of non-senbatsu members looking for jobs themselves. Not only Karen, some of the members nowadays managed to get some jobs outside AKB.

Another thing is that too much AKB exposure is sure giving a lot of advantages, but it might caused members to be too attached to AKB, hence the lack of graduated senbatsu members' news lately. This is just purely my opinion though..

Also, don't you think it's awesome that Karen enters HoriPro? For a non-senbatsu member of AKB (and relatively 'unknown' compared to another non-senbatsu members), I guess that's a plus point. Hard work might not be always rewarded, but it will never betray and will not be wasted.

そして本日は、チョコレートプラネットのお2人の千穐楽でした。 お2人には、たくさん笑わせてもらいました。思い出しただけで幸せな気持ちになるような笑いを、たくさん残していってくださいました。元々大好きだったチョコプラさんと、こんな形で共演できると思ってなかったので、とっても嬉しかったです。 長田さん、松尾さん、お疲れ様でした！！
And then today was Chocolate Planet’s last performance. They have made us laugh a lot. They have left behind the memories of the laughter that made us happy. I was surprised upon hearing that Hirari announced graduation. According to what I saw on Twitter, she said she wants to take a harder road.
She took Karen's graduation pretty hard. I guess Karen's graduation kinda 'motivates' her to do so? In a good way though.. I'm pretty sure she'll be greater, if, she decided to continue in entertainment. Karen tweeted: "Hirari, otsukaresama". Simple tweet, but I guess they've talked about this matter before in private.

マリアと緑のプリンセス、稽古終了！朝日奈とお別れしてから初めての稽古。ちょっと寂しいけど、なんだかスッキリした気持ちで稽古に臨めました。やっとマリアとちゃんと向き合えるね^ ^
Maria and Princess the Green, training has ended! It’s the first practice since I bid farewell with Asahina. A little bit lonely, but somehow I practiced with a refreshed feelings. Finally I can confront Maria properly ^ ^

きっとこれから先、色んな役を演じて行くと思うけど、
その役全員を死ぬまで背負って行くんだろうなって最近すごく思うんです。全員の想いを、一生背負って、その一人一人が経験値となって、私を成長させてくれるんだなって。
Surely from now on, I think I will play many roles,
Lately I’ve been thinking to carry those roles till death.
Everyone’s feeling, carried in my whole life, every one of them becomes my experience, it will make me grow.

今日は久々のお休み！

まずは1人で映画鑑賞。やっぱ定期的に映画館行かないとダメな体質みたい笑

今日はずっと気になってた、「TOO YOUNG TO DIE！若くして死ぬ」を見てきました！宮藤官九郎節がきいてて面白かった〜

どうせ死ぬなら、宮藤官九郎さんの作品に出てから地獄に堕ちたいっす。なんて。笑
でもまじで宮藤官九郎さんの作品出たいぞ！！頑張るぞ！！！

先輩の秋元才加さんと、この間共演させて頂いた本郷奏多さんも出演している作品！
上映してる時からずっと見たかったんだけど結局見れず終いだったから楽しみにしてたんだー♪
やっぱ秋元さんの演技は凄えなあと。お姉ちゃん感がちゃんと出ていて、エイアとユウガのやりとりにほっこりしまくりでした。ほっこり出来るような内容ではないんだけどね。笑
本郷さんのお芝居も安定感ありまくりで本当凄くて(語彙力)、ハラハラドキドキしながら見れました(＾ω＾)
Senpai Akimoto Sayaka-san and my co-star from recently, Hongo Kanata-san appeared in this movie!
I wanted to keep looking the screen from the beginning but in the end I failed yet I enjoyed it♪
Akimoto-san’s acting is great after all. Big sister vibe came out properly, Eia and Yuuga’s interaction is so warm. To be able to be that warm is not a matter after all. (LOL)

こちらもずっと気になっていた作品。園子温監督で、綾野剛さんや山田孝之さんも出演していて、まさに魂が震える映画でした。今まで怖かっただけの歌舞伎町が、少しだけカッコよく見えました。行かないけど。笑

初めまして、マシュー先生

本日のマリプリ稽古では、宝田明さんと初対面させて頂きました…！
In today’s MariPuri practice, I met Takarada Akira-san for the first time!


すごく緊張してたのですが、とっても優しくてリラックスしてお芝居することができました！
I was really nervous, but I was able to do the play very gently and relax!

たくさんアドバイス頂いて、今日1日だけでも物凄く勉強なりました…！
I received a lot of advice, today I have learned a lot… !

宝田さんは初演に引き続き、
マリアが本当の父親のように慕っていて、マリアが所属する劇団の代表者でもある、マシュー役を演じてくださいます。
Takarada-san is continuing the role since the first performance,
He portrays the role of Matthew, whom Maria yearned like her real father, and the representative of the theatre company that Maria belongs to.


宝田さんと共演できるなんて……きっとこの経験は、私にとってまた大きなステップアップになると思います。

@krhendro Thanks for translating Karen's blog! It's fun to read ^-^ It's nice to see that she's doing really well after graduation! Although she's mostly doing plays for now, but maybe later she will appear in dramas and movies and shows too. And I'm wondering if she will sing again, I like her voice!

 

You're welcome. Translating them became a hobby, although I'm not fluent. Glad you enjoyed them. I thought it would be nice if people know what Karen wrote in her blog.

I also hoped that she occasionally sings, although it will be unlikely. I like her because of her voice at first. But the great thing about musical stage play is that she can practice both her acting and singing skills at the same time. Still hoping that music producer gave her a song though.

As for appearing in dramas or films, it will take time. She's been busy making contacts and connections with various actors, actresses, entertainers, filmmakers, and many people in entertainment business. She's pretty smart and I believe she'll do better from now.

I believe there are still unannounced 'project' of Karen that haven't been disclosed. Looking forward to them.

 

Not so much news about Karen lately. I believe she's still practicing and preparing for Maria.

前回からずっと観たくて、
第2弾にしてやっと行けました(OvO)

ドラマのマジすか5とちゃんと話が繋がってて
The story is connected from Majisuka 5

それがまた凄いいい演出で……

泣かされましたわ

今回は同期が3人出てまして(OvO)

やっぱり筋力があるからだろうか、殺陣のキレが凄くて、
1人だけ踊ってるみたいに殴ったり蹴ったりしてましたｗｗ
ダンスしてる時と同じ顔してた笑
つまり生き生きしてるってことね(*´ｰ｀)
ちっちゃいはずなのに、舞台に立ってる優花は誰よりも大きく見えるんだもん、不思議だね。
She got muscle after all, the sharp sword fight is really awesome,
She was punching and kicking like one-man dancing ww
When she danced, she was doing the same face (LOL)
In other words, she’s very lively (*´ｰ｀)
Even though she’s small, when Yuka’s on stage, she’ll look bigger to the point that anyone can see her, that’s strange.


朱里！イカノメ
Juri! Ikanome

ドラマでも大活躍だったけど、今回も存在感抜群！ウオノメとちゃんと演じ分けてて、朱里のそうゆう繊細なお芝居好きだなあって改めて思いました。
She was doing great in the drama, this time also has an outstanding presence! She properly separated her acting from Uonome, I was thinking that I love Juri’s fine play.

あとゆかり！
なんか衣装が初音ミクっぽくて、動きとかも可愛くて、ああ、ゆかりだなあ(*´ェ｀*)って思ってたら、口開いたら凄く通る声ですごんでて、！？！？！？ってなったｗｗ
一瞬ゆかりが喋ったってわかんないくらい、聞いたことない声で見たことないゆかりでした！
本当すごかった！！！！
And then Yukari!
Somehow her outfit looked like Hatsune Miku, she’s cute when she moved, I thought, ah, it’s Yukari (*´ェ｀*) , my mouth was opened and voice passing through！？！？！？ ww
The moment when Yukari spoke, she became the Yukari that I’ve never known, her voice that I never heard, and the Yukari that I’ve never seen!
She was really great!!!!

同期が頑張ってる姿見れて、私も頑張ろうって思えたし、何より嬉しかった

^with that picture alone we can see that Karen is already fashionable, she also showed that in the last AKBINGO fashion show in which she participated (apart from her questionable choice of shoes )

As for yesterday, no signs of Karen on any of her social media. She must've been really busy. Go, go , Karen!

今日は音楽監督の玉麻さんのご指導を受けることができました！
Today we are able to receive guidance from music director Tama-san!

玉麻さんとは今日が初めましてだったのですが、1回歌を聴いて頂いて最初に言われた言葉が、「苦手意識あるでしょ？」でした。笑
Even though today was the first time I met Tama-san, the first words he said to me when he listened to the song were 「You have a weakness, don’t you?」 (LOL)

見透かされてる……笑
I was seen through…… (LOL)

でもリズムの取り方や、私の声を凄く素敵だと褒めてくださって、自信を持っていいと言ってくれました。
But the way he took the rhythm, praised how good is my voice, told me to have confidence.

歌は大好きなんだけど、幼い頃のトラウマとかもあって、苦手意識が物凄くあって、
I love singing, but I had trauma from childhood, that became my weakness,

歌うことが大好きだからこそそれが凄く苦しいし、1人ならもっと気持ちよく歌えるのにって思ったりもして、それで1人カラオケが趣味になったり、、、
It was really painful because I really love singing, I was thinking if I was alone I could sing comfortably, hence Karaoke alone became my hobby,,,

でも今日玉麻さんに少し声の出し方のご指導を頂いただけで、自分でびっくりするくらい声が出て、

今までどこを使えばいいかわからなかった筋肉を使えたりして、喉に負担をかけずに歌えて、
Up until now I don’t know how I should use it, I’ve been using my muscle, now I sing without burdening my throat,

不安要素が一気に取り除かれました

Up until now, we know that Karen is not confident with her voice, even though she has an amazingly beautiful voice. Now we know that’s because a childhood trauma. While we don’t know what kind of bad experience she had back then, having trauma is hard. No wonder why Karen is very happy whenever people praised her voice.

I hope she’ll receive more confidence in her voice and keep singing from the bottom of her heart.

Found a new info: Karen will appear in Sendai Local TV, it will be about Sendai Tanabata.
