AKB48 won Single of the Year (Tsubasa wa Iranai was the Single). Plus Kimi wa Melody, Tsubasa wa Iranai, LOVE TRIP / Shiawase wo Wakenasai, and High Tension were named Best 5 Singles. from the Japan Gold Disc Awards.

 

To this day, I still don't understand why people give all the credit to the center when a song is a hit especially the pre-SSK singles. It's not like the song is a hit because of the center. It's a hit because it contains the voting ticket for the SSK. Someone like Tanamin could center it and it'll still sell over 1 million

 

The center position has this mystical thing around it that they've tried to promote since the Acchan days.
It's nonsense, but people still buy it (Keyaki's 4th single thread is living proof of that).

Still, I think Miion benefited a lot from centering that.

And I hope the next one is centered by Nacchan or Renacchi.

 

With Naachan's kennin, it probably means they dont plan to make Naachan a center candidate just like Yukirin.

 

Personally, I don't think mngmt has ever intended for Naachan to be a center candidate ^^;

 

Yukirin centered Green Flash with Kojiharu though.

 

Yukirin was a Kennin when GF came out.

And then there is Sayanee. Center extraordinaire for NMB, even while Kennin for Team K.

And Sakuratan. Centered KR and KwM, still Kennin.

 

I agree. If anything, management would choose KojiMako over Naachan. Speaking of centers...

Since Yuko's grad, there have only been four members who really got the full "ace-push" package: Mayuyu, Paruru, Sakura and Miion. And yeah, Yukirin has w-centered and KojiHaru has had a w and solo center in that time frame, but Green Flash was just a quick change of pace and, well, Shoot Sign is more of a send-off center. It really makes me wonder who the 48th single center will be given that the number is symbolic. I'd like to see management be consistent with Miion's ace push. I have a feeling that it's going to be a Mayuyu-Miion w-center, but it's way too early to say lol.

 

Renacchi is safer bet.

Why bash the Tanamin I would've picked on Izurina tho XD

Yes, I am aware OD And Ponytail did not sell a million+. They are just that good that they should have, IMHO.

 

Where did the center talk even come from?

I can already imagine the gods of S48 barging in to complain about us talking about that trigger word but I think from recent years, High Tension, Kimi wa Melody, Halloween Night and Bokutachi wa Tatakawanai all deserved it.

Pardon me if post it on wrong thread. I need to post it somewhere which many would read.
I'm making a poll for 48 fans outside Indonesia & Japan only, which JKT48 member do you like most HERE.
I made it on my backup account because if I made it on my main account, unwanted people would vote.
I'm currently making some inquiries and I'll turn them into a letter then I'll drop it on suggestion box in JKT48 theater. Just hope JKT48 will receive & read it.
At least I found something useful to do to kill my boredom of being unemployed fresh graduate.
