Thank you so much for translating this. It was super long her post tbh lol. But I felt it had a lot of frustration in it, but also a lot of hope and redemption. Like she's ready for that next step.
"In Akarin we trust" has brought me there. I have been shocked today to see that she has over 400 thousand followers on Twitter - never noticed that really, I'm anyway wildly curious how does this compare... 145966 Included both members (*) and graduates - those below Airi barely pass 100000 at best, so I skipped them. How did this progress over time? Dunno if there are any tools, so I'm going to use own data. Kouhaku already gave a small boost, but since 2017-06-17 it's a clear madness... Good madness. We might be looking at Milky's level soon (in this year).
Kouhaku was like a second chance for her and lemon (and that was because of her own work). I'm very pleased with her current position in ssk. Not related to akarin but yuuri has 155K followers.
Thanks for notice, it's better to have a complete list. Akari is on back cover of UTB+ Vol.39 - looks like content "for male fans". Image taken off official twitter, so not information for quality. Holy duck this issue, these offshoots Rei is tweeting are just so! And posters! Must get x 3 already!
http://www.oricon.co.jp/rank/obp/w/2017-08-14/ 5th place with 2256 copies, with previous two weeks of 21676 coming to a current total of 23932. UTB+ Vol.39 ordered.
I'm proud to be the first on this thread to wish Akarin a very happy 21st birthday. Our girl's future is bright indeed.
Happy 21st birthday Akarin!!! Wish you the best on this special day. You can also tweet about Akarin's birthday on Twitter using the hashtag #吉田朱里生誕祭
A birthday greeting from Churi: アカリンお誕生日おめでとう https://twitter.com/akane29_o8o/status/897811136631816192
Let me get this straight----all this girl does is eat? And huge numbers of people go on Youtube to watch her consume enormous amounts of food? Really? Why am I having such a problem understanding her appeal? Does this go on a lot in Japan?
I remember it's called a Mukbang in Korea. I watch these videos to see what people have to say about the food so I can pretend I'm eating it or to see if it's worth eating. There are a couple of these videos just in anywhere
Its not just the quantity, she gets to try all sorts of food which interests people like me who like cooking, food and food culture Yuka is quite a genki personality and best of all she has English (and many other languages) subtitling for ahervideos. Shoutout to aphexx-san https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFTVNLC7ysej-sD5lkLqNGA <-- 3.3 million subs and counting Akarin and Yuka are one of the fastest growing female Youtubers at the moment. Glad to see them together! Though it did look a bit awkward, being strangers and all I wish Akarin takes a page out of Yuka's playbook and hire translators to subtitle her videos. Just English and Chinese will be enough. Her sub numbers will explode through the roof
http://www.oricon.co.jp/rank/obp/w/2017-08-21/ 4th place with 3412 copies, with previous three weeks of 23932 coming to a current total of 27344. http://www.oricon.co.jp/rank/obf/w/2017-08-21/ That amount was sufficient to take 6th place in Fashion category (also in previous weeks book was ranked in both).
Yea, Mukbangs are huge. Also, Yuka is really pretty too and has been on Japanese TV for quite a few years now (obviously eating related programs). I think Yuka is in the Top 5(?) for like most subscribed youtube channel in Japan (that's like not a company or business related, just like personal youtube account). IDK if that's changed or not but she's quite popular. Mukbangs in general are pretty well-known (take it however u want; some people find it rather saddening, but others love it). Akarin being associated with her is really good news tbh. Yuka started out as a beauty channel, but it failed and she found her calling in Mukbangs. So it's really nice seeing how one youtuber (Akari) succeeded while the other found major success in another thing. They need to collab. I know Akarin can't eat as much as Yuka can, but that's a smart move on Akari's part and Yuka is quite friendly so they can do a make-up thing on Akari's channel since Yuka loves make-up.
They need to eat that X2 extra hot chicken korean noodles then put on makeup to cover the damage done as their cheeks grow redder
Any way you could estimate how ''successful'' this book has been? Is it considered a moderate success? A huge success? A runaway best-seller? I guess it doesn't have the numbers of the photo books of Mayuyu or Sasshi or some of the other AKB superstars, because someone mentioned those books reached sales of more than six figures. Does anyone have any idea of how profitable this enterprise has been for Akari? I know absolutely zero about the Japanese book business. Thank you much in advance for any response.
