Well I don't have any good suggestion on how they should do it either, but whatever they name for STU I wouldnt complain much as long as I know we are talking about STU here.

N3 will probably stay and wont be renamed since its already made but they could be using S2 since they already denounce SNH and there is also S3 in SHY anyways so if they are going to "forget" about SNH groups then its better to name STU S2

Back in the old days kanban musume were the original idols -- the face of a business... so every day was a live-or-die akushukai with passersby. Humble work like this is like the ground floor of being an idol -- attract, promote, uplift. Go STU!

 

Ye NGT as well. Some hard grinding work they are doing to lay foundations for themselves and say proudly they can own up the glory when they become popular in the future. It's not someone else's shadow they are chasing or milking the benefits from but building the future with their own blood, sweat and tears.

I've said this numerous times in various threads already but I really really like what management is doing recently for the 48G direction (except for the foreign collabs stuff, which I have a lot of doubts on), but back to the basics it's always the most pure form of practical things the girls can always do instead of just sitting around waiting for chance to come (props to you harurun for that self propose costume design project), screw the gimmicks/dramas/CM etc.

Rebuild the 48G!!

^ Great points. Re: foreign collabs... I think that's historically been something that can lay dormant as needed waiting on more cash, so since the coffers were bare this year after the SSK debacle, once the groups solidify some core changes as mentioned prior, they'll then have the luxury of pumping cash into collabs... but not a moment sooner.

I'd add to the 'make your own legacy' sentiment, that each generation of a group, should be expected to pave their own way, not entirely different but distinct from their senpai's generation, on hard-won work. Shokis will always be thought of as pioneers... but not enough emphasis has put on past kouhai gens establishing an identity for themselves in the purview of group concept. This is where I feel the Sakamichis exceed 48G, esp for example, 15th-gen. You can see signs of this taking root at the SG level, re: HKT's new look becoming way more distinctive, just as NGT's and STU's costume concepts strongly rep Niigata and Setouchi. It's a relatively cheap way to answer 'what makes this group ___48?'

I like that STU came into being at a time ripe for the whole 48G to go back to basics -- it'll only get better and better, when your house is built on strong foundations.

And yes -- float the damned boat, already.
