Mentioning this because I finally got the Identity live tour DVD and Kassai was my favorite performance. Abe Mao (who wrote and composed 'Kassai' on the Identity album) has a new album of her own coming out on the 7th, with 'Kassai' as track 8 (around 2:30).

Also nice podcast. It was interesting to listen to and I learned a few things - I didn't even know she checks twitter like that. She truly is dedicated! "Who the HECK is this girl!?" Honestly I can relate to this because she wasn't one of the first girls in 48group I took notice of. But I remember once I saw the video of her solo live at the 2014 summer festival I thought she was a diamond in the rough, and I only focused on her from then on.

She hasn't said anything so far. But yeah you're right, 99% sure she won't enter. But her hairstylist tweeted this last week, I guess he wants to enter it in her place LOL

 

What is making everyone so certain that she won't enter SSK this year? Has she said she didn't want to enter anymore?
I don't follow Sayanee very much, but she's probably my 48G ni-oshi, so I started watching this thread yesterday.

 

She's not the type to go back on her word.

Last year was probably THE most difficult, and she still said no.

Not that she needed to, just out of curiosity.

 

Here's a translation (kindly translated by @convenience93) of her mobame back when she said she wasn't going to participate:

"In regards to the elections, I've also talked about it on Twitter, but that 140 character limit can be quite exquisite. Haha.

I think I could only convey about a portion of what I wanted everyone to know.
It definitely wasn't enough for me to convey everything else in entirety.

As there wasn't room for me to divulge a whole lot, it ended up being concise for good or for bad.

The general elections is where I had confronted with my weak self over and over again.
It was also where I was constantly encouraged by love.
I also know that through the elections, my bond with everyone who has been supporting me would deepen each time.

Honestly, I think that the decision to withdraw from the elections requires more courage than actually participating in it.

What if because of that I end up being left on my own?
What if I am forced to come to a stop?

Those were the kinds of insecurities I had.

If I had indeed ran for the elections, I may have been considered a finished story.

However, I didn't want to give in to that.

I've come to think that the elections is no longer something for me to rely on or cling onto.

I wanted to prove the very meaning of my existence.

Perhaps this is me doing things at my own convenience.
Perhaps this may be selfish of me.

But I will definitely not make anyone feel disappointed.
I will make sure everyone's thoughts and feelings don't go to waste.

Although I may be on a different path from everyone else, I'll still continue running my own race.

So Sayanee will be co-MC on a baseball show on Saturday about the Hanshin Tigers' manager and star players. Seems like this is the sort of MC work AKBingo hinted at, I wonder how far it will go. Seems like she's continuing firmly with her love of baseball, since she has also had a little interview segment on toravan twice already, and she was on a show about Japan's high school baseball championship last week (and she narrated a Hokkaido show about it a few months ago too). But of course who knows what is down the road, I'm still hoping for something music related. But either way, I'm glad it is to do with things she enjoys and loves.

 

That translation I did was from 2017 btw just to avoid any confusion xD

She already gave her reasoning last year, so yeah I don't think she needs to again this year.
Plus, even besides that, she had already declared herself 2 years ago in 2016 that for good or for bad, that was going to be her last SSK.
Hence, that's what we mean by her not going against her own word cause she's not the type to do so.

Baseball
The Hanshin Tigers' ace pitcher Takumi Akiyama is using Sayanee's 'Kassai' as his player theme/appearance song for this year (I think it might only be played at home games though).

After the Tigers won their first game of the season against the Yomiuri Giants, the Daily Sports again called Sayanee the 'goddess of victory'. Unfortunately the Tigers lost the next 2 games .
