It's a completely different style. Surely everyone buying the single took that into consideration, and therefore it doesn't matter to single sales whatsoever if the song was premiered in a choral style.

 

You're completely Correct!...I CHOOSE to refer to it as "That Choral Song" ("Wishful Tumbling" English style) because that's how I know it & how it was 1st Performed for me. I'm not trying to play 'Tit-for-Tat' here... Trinu asked WHY I keep calling it that name (or distinction) and I've amply explained WHY I know it mainly as a Choral song. I am VERY Aware the CD's you all bought a year ago contain the "Newer" Refined Version- That was NEVER in Question. Should I refer to it by Single # designation?? I.E. "Teacher Teacher" is "#52". Other Users use Abbreviations ALL the Time - I never question them. Who am I to judge what others refer to various singles by.

AKB48 was in Region BLOCK Mode in the USA this time last year- I didn't get a lot of chances to see the "Newer" Vid - Only Non-YouTube links when they were shared in forums like this. In some (e.g. continental European) locales, the comma is used like a period is used in the US or UK. Otherwise it doesn't have a meaning that makes sense here.

So on an international board, writing 2.5k is literally the same as writing 2,5k. Your "," doesn't make any difference, let alone all the difference.

I'm satisfied that AKB has the pure ability to still sell Millions. Even their sister and "rival" groups retaining some sort of success.

It's wikipedia so I considered that, and all the 48 marketing and gimmicks. Still though it's really remarkable how high AKB48 reached. 10 Years ago I was jamming to BINGO and RIVER and felt like a revolution was coming. But we all got a domination instead!

 

As of today, I'm still not sure about Oricon's motive? Why do they scale the actual sale nummbers? Why don't they just show the true number, scaling the numbers helps nothing.

A New Record for First Day Sales (BWT had the record at 1,472,375).

 

Oricon have to stay relevant, if it looks like people might start to question the supremacy of Oricon stats and move (even slightly) towards Billboard then they need to consider that closely.

From what I recall they were under pressure to get closer to the number of people who buy CDs. They disallowed other buying incentives like putting concert tickets in CDs and music cards (I think Exile used these tactics a lot?) and cut down on the bulk buy numbers (AKB, Nogizaka etc)

Even without Sasshi and Mayuyu the sales are great. I think most people are predicting that the vote numbers for the top two will go down (no one will ever reach Sasshi's numbers again lets face it) so I guess we're going to see more vote inflation in the middle and low ranks, it's going to be a real dogfight in the midfield.

 

Congratz on the highest first day sales ever, and about 380k higher than previous voting single even though Soundscan figure is about 125k increase

This again shows that Oricon is really more lenient this year. But still, the nature of voting single insane bulk purchase can still easily exceed their increased limit.

Edit: There's still re-resales to be shipped next week, and re-re-resales the Monday after. I think this single has to the potential to hit 1.9m when all's done.
