Sakaguchi Nagisa (Nagi) / Team 8

The more followers you have the more people you reach and your growth will be bigger.

Sayaya has a longer story with proper AKB teams and idols, which makes it easier for her to have more followers. But how much does that reflect on her true popularity? More than the number of followers (remember how AKBINGO! bragged about Komi's followers, but then...) you should look at the number of likes they have. See Sayaya's likes per post, it's really... not that great. Compare it with Nagyu.
Nagyu has more followers on Instagram than Berin, Naru, even Odaeri and Ku... Cho. But check the average number of likes of their posts (with selfies on the post cover) and compare it with Nagyu. See what I mean?

Furthermore, Sayaya went to Indonesia recently and was on the news because of her transfer. It's only natural that she's gaining a few more followers now. I mean, Ikumin posted a photo on Instagram with that Korean girl, it had more than 5k likes and she was having more than 200 new followers.

One interesting thing about this new Team 4 is that they barely mention Team 8. I believe one of the reasons why the first eito kennin didn't work that well was because they were seen as alien members. Nagyu would often talk about Team 8 when she as part of Team B. And you know how non-eito fans mind works.

But this new Team 4 acts as if they were all fours. Even Hattsu says she's from Team 4. It's easier for a fan to accept them as real Team 4 members this way. And we're talking about the most eitoish team of AKB4, with its most popular members, Okada and Yuiri, being eito fans.

Instead of trying to make fans like Team 8, first you make them like the eitos; the team will come afterwards naturally.
