Miyuna is top 2 dancers in STU together with Kanon chan tho. While Miyuna is more known for her anime voice and tamenegi chara, you can't deny that she's also a top dancer. She always has a good position in STU's formation when it comes to songs with choreo on the heavier side (think Dare no koto wo ichiban aishiteru? and the like)

Well if you consider promoting Setouchi and having fun a theme then yes lol. I'm not sure what kind of variety you like (since I didn't watch HKTBingo) but I really enjoyed Setobingo. They even had a singing contest at Episode 10.

There is definitely some comedy but it's basically an 11 episode advertisement for Setouchi. Maybe one episode it's food (which one is Setouchi) and the next it's dialect (be cute in a Setouchi dialect), etc. That is, of course, after you get through the first two episodes of introductions and butt grabbing.

Butt grabbing sounds like my kind of thing ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Anyway I don’t mind them promoting Setouchi as long as it’s fun like Team 8’s Anta Roke and NGT’s Niigata Friend.

Yeah I consider promoting Setouchi a theme but as long as it’s like Team 8’s Anta Roke or NGT’s Niigata Friend then I’ll probably love it.

My kind of variety would probably be members talking about each other and their personal experiences (members’ interaction) plus mixed in with games & getting to know more about stuff like places. Prank shows are also good for me.

I didn’t like HKTBingo cuz I’m not really a fan of Japanese comedy (Manzai etc)

This happens as an aside but the show itself never makes it a priority. It does just happen once in awhile, though, like when they starting talking about kissing each other. :p

    Every episode has games.

I think in two or three of the episodes they visited different parts of where the MV was shot, including a little dress up.

    Two total pranks, episode 11.

    It's good times. :)

EDIT: I also want to point out that when they single out a girl to do something like show off a talent or something, there are a lot of times when they invite other girls to join them. It seems like this group is really a group rather than a bunch of individuals. I hope it stays that way.

In a perfect world, they would make a dance senbatsu single based on audition like this to make a positive public reception, release it as SSK Vote single, so the wotas who don't care about performance will still buy them for voting tickets and AKB still get the 1M mark with this risky move hihi.

SKE is less about sharp dance moves - which is NWM’s and MBN’s style - but more energy, expressive choreo (and synchronization for certain songs). They stand out less as solo dancers than as teams imo. There are plenty of good dancers of course like Makiko, Rikachu, Aiai but they are usually underrated and unpopular.

Anw this makes me miss Yukiko and Anna so much.

Eeeh... Depends on which ones you watched. I went through all the applicant videos for NGT, but I have to say that Reinya and Ainya were some pretty strong contenders in there, which pretty much should go without saying for anyone who knows them. But then again Chikana's performance struck me positively as well. I would have also liked to add Riko, who is another good dancer in her own right, into the list, but she showed flaws in her routine, sadly.
I think the trick here is not only to be able to make sweeping and quick movements, but also to have the reflexes to stop your swing at the right timing, otherwise you'd just end up flailing around and nothing else. This is not something that everyone is capable of, even among those members who are judged as good dancers in this thread.

I appreciate that, at least as far NGT is concerned, it's the girls with a solid reputation as good dancers who decided to apply for this selection, because in the case of other groups I am seeing a rush of members who seem to overestimate themselves or to completely lack in self-awareness, for them to think their skills are enough to meet the standards, with pretty embarrassing results in some cases (Matsuoka Hana? Matsuoka Hana).

Though, with the whole premise being that the members are to serve as sub-ins for the likes of Sakura and Nako, I'm not naive to think that this won't turn more into a popularity contest rather than a true evaulation of skills, as someone already suspected. Knowing AKS's cronyism, there's the possibility that they would try twisting it again into a "successors" kind of narrative, in favor of the member they are going to choose (read "tip the scales in favor of"), even, but let's wait and see...

    ---
Extra fun fact: Apparently the members were told by their managers not to be afraid since the videos were supposed to be watched only by the staff at the record label anyway, so some didn't know they would have been made public on the site until it went up. Amusingly, Hinatan even went out and excused herself for the messy background she performed to in her own... ┐(´ー`)┌

I know this will be a long shot but I’m like rooting for Noepii. She really put a lot into the dance and has improved so much. Hinata is really amazing too plus Marina too.
