Muto Tomu is getting cocky these days. I still have that Tonari no Banana performance haunting my brain.
A couple of years ago I posted on here about a BBC News report on 'freakshakes' (milkshakes that also contain chocolates, sweets, cake, cream and sauce) which used AKB48's 'Sugar Rush' as the introductory music. Today there's been an update in the news story as a UK campaign group called Action on Sugar is demanding a ban on them. BBC News is consequently rerunning the original report (complete with 'Sugar Rush') in a new article which is currently trending at #3 on the site: https://www.bbc.com/news/health-46179175
AKB48 will once again be a part of NHK Kouhaku (Their 11th One) http://www.nhk.or.jp/kouhaku/artist/index.html
^ Not surprising, but IMO I feel this year's AKB48 roster for the Kouhaku is going to be the weakest we've seen, given the departures of Mayuyu and Sayanee because of graduation, Milky (Miyawaki Sakura, which is actually HKT48 but has been in AKB senbatsu consistently) due to IZ*ONE, and the ongoing uncertainties with Jurina...
I think AKB's preference will be Jurina centering Sentimental Train for the first time in a live performance. If she's unavailable, I guess it will be No Way Man with Naachan as center.
I think that's the third year in a row that AKB are the only 48 Group representatives. Interested to hear peoples thoughts on why this is, and what it would take for a sister group to get invited again?
didn't jurina already perform on MSta? though it wouldn't be surprising for akb to perform ST on kouhaku since Jurina is the current ace. Unless management wanna promote naachan (jabaja/NWM) or yuiyui (TT)?
Because the 48 fever is over. The SG that got to sell even 500k back in the day struggle to reach 300k now after months. The new SG won't even get to those heights ever. So all they can do is group behind AKB, which is the brand that everyone recognises. I'm more curious about what sort of SSK we'll get this time. I wouldn't be mad if we got another Top 48 voted by fans like 2 years ago.
i bet aks will do something like they did in 2016 & 2018. their ratings for the last 2 years were kinda high so i'll be waiting for it~
Either sell bucketloads again or become media critical darlings. You can barely sell anything but if the media critics love you then you get in.
Kouhaku hasn't been good since they kicked out Kobayashi Sachiko anyway Nowadays Kouhaku is just a best hits show without any real points of interest. It's like show up, do the same songs you always do with maybe a couple extra backflips, then leave. I don't feel like being invited to it gives the same kind of prestige anymore.
Just realized AKB48 uploaded Set List Greatest Songs 2006-2007 on Spotify, before it was only Sugar Rush there. Wondering will they upload more songs later?
