Yeah, Juri would have made a good Soukantoku but then again I don't know much about how Mion is backstage. Yuihan has her reasons - I do hope its not about some plans to graduate. Juri has just finally made it to the top.

This is from some days ago but AKB were in Thailand for MAYA Music Festival and Juri was obviously there (she's going to return to Thailand in january for the Asia Festival '19).

After watching this, I incline to believe Juri's Korean debut rumor. Her will to Korean debut got stronger after Produce48.

That can be why she may graduate, because she knows she won't go any further.

Main reason why Mion was chosen must be her desire to be one. Minami said she was apologetic to make Yui her successor. This task must be hellish if the person does not love it.

 

As a K-pop fan, I'm not sure I see the appeal of a K-pop debut for a member in AKB. It seems like a much more rigid and constricted system in a smaller market.

 

Could be Juri wasn't interested, we won't know unless someone tells us.

 

Maybe the appeal of being known outside of Asia. I think the west know KPOP more than Japanese idol music.

 

Juri said it herself in the Lee Hongki interview. She stated that Kpop idols has the highest standards for idols (performance), and that is why she's still interested in debuting in Korea. After that answer, I understood why she probably took her name off being a soukantouku.

and it's really not about Jpop vs Kpop or any other countries for that matter. It's the opportunity to perform at a very high level in front of large audiences around the world. Take a look at Hiichan, who centered a dance unit at a MAMA concert the other day.
