Hopes, Fears, and Predictions for 2019

With 2018 coming to a close. Time for us to look ahead to 2019 and have the usual S48 Tradition of your Hopes, Fears, and Predictions for the upcoming year.

Hopes

• Miichan announces grad
• Naachan top 3??!!!
• Jiina bounces back (highly unlikely but still)
• A better year for STU in terms of singles
• Another Riripon worthy scandal

Fears

• Moeka flopping (possibly if pushed too hard??)
• World SSK happening next year again (not that I don't like it but it feels like it takes away the opportunities of the poor Japanese rising girls)
• New sister group (domestic or overseas)
• HKT struggling after the leave of Sasshi

Predictions

• J snatching first for sure
• Some sort of new gimmick/event
• Gori push Moeka like the second Hana

 

Hopes:
-Jurina recovers
-Haruppi is well enough to return
-Naachan ranks 1st
-Bingo becomes more interesting. I really feel it's been too safe for a variety show and therefore doesn't push the girls to be interesting and engaging.

Fears:
-I am a little concerned of Jurina or Haruppi needing to leave the group for medical reasons. I absolutely want them to be healthy and do what needs to be done to achieve that, but it would be awful for them to not leave on their own terms.
-Bingo continues to be bland

Predictions:
-Yuiyui keeps being pushed
-Jurina ranks 1st
-Yukirin announces grad

 

Wish:
* New stage for K, B, 4, and 8 while Team A do A7
* AKB Asia Festival International Concert in Indonesia with SKE, NMB, NGT, STU, and MUM
* Himawarigumi 3rd Stage or the new Himawarigumi with revival stage

Prediction:
* Sekai Sousenkyou Rescheduling so JKT (especially), SGO, MUM, MNL, TP, and SH can join

Fear:
* Aki-P Death
* AKB48 Group disbanded along with / or its sister
* New AKB Group, they should stop do this for temporary time
* Mass Graduation

 

Hopes

• Alot of girls actually make it into an agency (So many girls out there in the 48G that deserve to be in agencies imo)
• Naachan solo debut
• Moeka centers a Single
• Management just decide to stream all events (I don't see why they haven't tbh).
• Rest of the 16th Gens + More 3rd Gen Draftees get promoted
• Janken prize gets changed again
• Sekai SSK in Tokyo Dome
• Cherprang makes Senbatsu in the Sekai SSK

Fears

• Alot of girls don't make it into an agency
• Moeka gets too much hate and becomes the next Hana
• 16th Gens and More 3rd Gen Draftees don't get promoted
• Janken continues to be a Unit Single
• AKB Kouhaku continues being a music festvial rather then a competition.

Predictions

• Jurina wins SSK (OgiYuka 2nd, Naachan 3rd, Yuihan 4th)
• Sekai SSK returns with all groups taking part (even JKT48)
• 2019 Sekai SSK in Tokyo Dome or Osaka Dome
• Yuihan, Miichan, Myao all graduate (Yukirin announces graduation at the end of the year to for Spring 2020)
• Janken prize and format get changed
• 5 NGT48 girls make Senbatsu in the SSK (3rd are locks imo).

Predictions on Singles Center
55th: Naachan and Mion
56th: Moeka (Annin Centers Team A Song)
57th: Jurina
58th: YuiYui

 

Fears: AKB48 still dead inside

1. Yes, she indeed should leave. Even, she should've left last year.
2. Moeka is going another Naanya but I've seen Naanya's new gravure then AKB48 should regret that they let her go. Looks like Naanya is going a solo gravure idol like Asakawa Nana & previously there're Nagasawa Marina & Amaki Jun. All of them have left their groups respectively.
3. Northern Sea Territory.

1. Brand new stage is a must especially for Team 4, Team 8, & HKT48. But ………………………………………………
2. I'd suggest ICE BSD or Jakarta Velodrome as the venue.
3. Well, I sent a fanletter to Yupi that she should join Sekai sousenkyo. If the letter isn't delivered to her, I'm gonna say that on HS.
4. Aki-P is still healthy. Even almost no health problems tho he's now 60 & he's very busy with all his multiple franchises & job as 2020 Olympic Committee chairman. The old man will keep working until a doctor says he has to stop. If you consider Akimoto is a genius then did you know that the day when Einstein announced his retirement, tomorrow morning he passed away?

 

Hopes:
- Fukuoka Seina senbatsu, again
- Fukuoka Seina rank higher in ssk , (21-17 bracket)
- Naruu and Moekyun rank higher in ssk
- Naruu return to senbatsu and Miu to stay a senbatsu member.
- Miu rank well and her push continues.
- More akb girls get signed to agencies
- AKB Kouhaku 2019 be like 2017.
- New stages... lol

Fears:
-Juri and/or Mako grad
-Naruu's rank drops again.
-another majisuka series
- many 13-15th gen girls grad
- Only one team k rep in akb senbatsu

Predictions:
-Tomu will rank 5 and then snubbed from the autumn single.
-YuiMion double center spring single.
-Moeka center pre-ssk single.
-The yearly drama will not be tofupro or majisuka related.
- Yukirin grad, and Yuihan announces December 2019.

 

Hopes:

• Otake Hitomi (as well as more D3 and gen 16s) is promoted.
• Naachan makes top 3.
• Juri makes Kami 7
• AKS invest in singing/dancing lessons for members who want them/have time for them.
• Former PD48 contestants rank up or in.
• More streams of events.

Fears:

• Juri graduates.
• Moeka causes a scandal (I dunno why, I just look at her and see a looming threat of scandal?)

Predictions:

• Yukirin graduates.
• Myao graduates.

 

Hopes:

• AKS continues pushing Naachan
• Naachan gets more work, both in and outside of 48G
• Naachan gets Top 3 at SSK
• More streams of events
• AKS pushes AKB girls harder
• More focus on the 13-16D3 Gen girls
• 16ki girls get promoted and more recognition
• Asai Nanami makes Senbatsu
• More concerts (especially AKB Tandoku concerts)
• New Stages
• Good songs as A-sides. We desperately need new song to replace 365/KFC/Hebirote
• More representation from Team K
• More team songs
• New stages (even Team Surprise kind of Stage like SKE Festival is okay at this point tbh)
• 48G Undokai
• More talent-related events like the Dance audition for No Way Man top 3 position and the singing contest
• 48G returns to Dome
• No Gen 17

Fears:

• Many up and coming girls graduating (especially girls from Gen 13 and newer)
• Sucky songs/Singles
• More emphasis on the Sister groups instead of AKB
• No concerts aside from the announced ones at TDC Hall, SSK and Kanshasai
• Only Naru as Team K representative at Senbatsu
• Gen 17 as a solution to keep sales high

Predictions:

• Naachan making at least Top 5 at SSK again
• Myao graduating
• Miichan continues to stay

@BadIcecream He's very old. Except if he is still 40 or 50, he still has a big chance to live. Now, he's 60, can he survive for music industrial ? We don't know, just God know when he'll retire and when he'll die.

 

Hopes:
- Okada Nana won the singing contest and get her solo debut / solo tours later
- okada & oguri double center for spring single, and moeka for pre-ssk single
- more STU48 girls make it to spring or pre-ssk single senbatsu, hs monster ishida chiho maybe

Prediction:
- Jurina win sousenkyo, and okada at second place
- yuiyui push getting stronger than before, and "finally" make it to top 16

Fears:
- Okada senchou ended her STU kennin

 

@dutchie Well, your grandpa is so lucky. Around more than 60 years, people will start to have low energy to work (maybe, I just use my country standard about age as more than 60s, people will start to die). Oh yeah, my grandparents still alive and still can work in their farm. That's lucky if people have to live more longer.

 

Hopes:

• Back to 16-nin senbatsus.
• Okada Nana as AKB48's "True ACE".
• A brother group.
• Jurina graduated/resigned from the group.
• Hime-Girl flopped and dropped to future girls/upcoming girls.

Fears:

• Jurina win SSK again.
• Another SG member in the frontline of AKB48's singles.
• Alll SG songs for B-side singles.
• Another "Let's dance together" song.

Predictions:

• Yukirin & Miichan announced their graduation.
• Matsuoka Hana be the next Miyawaki Sakura.

 

Hopes:

• Naachan solo debut (one can dream)
• New stages (ok, now I'm dreaming too much)
• New major events to energize the group & fans
• Better songs than we got in 2018 (I didn't like any of them that much except NWM)

Fears:

• I*ZONE or any Korean group having major involvement in 48G
• Naachan graduates (what will I live for?!)
• More sister groups announced before the current ones are even set up properly

Predictions:

• Another quiet year

 

Hopes:

• Team Songs on singles again

• another Sekai Senbatsu
• 13-16/Draft 2nd-3rd gen grads
• New sister group (in Japan or overseas)

Predictions:

• Jurina wins Sousenkyo again
• Miichan/Yukirin/Shiichan/Myao graduation
• Haruppi returns

 

Hopes

• New Team Songs in Single
• Naachan get her solo debut
• Naachan Top 2/3 in SSK
• Moeka in Senbatsu
• Tomu in Media Senbatsu
• Saho, Omegu and Miu get into senbatsu
• More AKB48 members rank in senbatsu in SSK
• More representation from Team K in senbatsu

• "That girl" is still in senbatsu, no matter she causes more scandal

• Not have any Team K member in senbatsu
• Mgt forget to promoted the kenkyuusei (again)

Predictions

• Jurina, Naachan and Ogiyuka in Top 3 in SSK
• Tomu in Top 5/6 in SSK
• Moeka center a single
• 2019 SSK in Osaka Dome
• JKT48 can participate in Sekai Senbatsu
• Yukirin, Miichan, Shiichan and Myao graduate

Hope
1. More survival shows!!
(Produce series was the best thing that ever happened to 48G . I feel so fortunate for being introduced to the series and KPOP)
2. Raps and high notes being introduced in AKB songs PROPERLY. not like in No way man... which is like an imitation to old kpop songs.
3. More girl crush songs like rumour,
or catchy songs like "好きになっちゃうだろう".
4. Cho Won (and SeJeong) to debut a solo single (please, her skill is much beyond Naachan or Miyu. and she's only what age? 16! Plus, her rap is so good), or at least following SoYeon footsteps.
