I'm really liking this girl. Her debut was strong in those games on Nogichuu, isn't obsessed with make up and plays catch with kids. A total tomboy. I think she may be my favorite 3rd gen. I'm always happy to hear what she's going to say.
Mukai Hazuki will particiapte in the stage play Arijigoku, the stage play will run at Theater Sunmall from 22 to 28 July 2020. The stage play is adapted from Itakura Toshiyuki's ficiton of the same title. The fiction was adapted into manga (illustrated by Takemura Yuuji) in 2018.
Filmed on June 28th, but airing on July 14th, Mukai was the guest on Yoshimotozaka46 ga Ureru Made. They're back in the "studio", no masks or those plexiglass barriers, but they are at their own tables separated by a good 2meters. The little "skills" segment at the end was Mukai vs two of the MCs in an abacus addition competition. EDIT: For this week's end segment on Ureru Made, Hazuki played a little bit of Manatsu no Kajitsu on guitar.
Ok, I've got to throw some Mukai love in here. I'm watching Nogizaka Koujichuu, episode 227 when the generational teams are getting ready for the three-person-per-team, four-way tug-of-war. The other teams are clearly concerned about going up against the 3rd gen team. When asked about strategy, Umezawa (the 3rd gen captain?) says something to the effect "Well, we've got our two tallest (and heaviest) members. . .and Mukai....". During the hotly-contested event, Mukai stumbles, regains her footing, and, with her back to the center of the rope, proceeds to pull the other teams (9 people in total) across the finish line, giving the 3rd gens the victory. This girl is intense! I've also noticed she gets pulled up on stage with the A-team singers such as Kazumin, Erika, and Asuka Saito during the serious stuff, such as Manatsu's live piano recital; she must have a very talented voice as well? When the third gens first came aboard, I thought Matsumura seemed a little harsh on her about her decidedly "un-idolish" appearance, but looking back on it, I think that was all a planned part of her character development. One thing is for sure, after Hori gave her a makeover, she was absolutely stunning; in fact, the "before" shot of her at the beginning of the episode revealed a beautiful young woman that wouldn't have been recognized as N46's "Mukai" in the off-chance you would have been standing next to her at the train station. She is truly an asset to the Nogizaka46 franchise!
Mukai was never not pretty. If you go check out their initial Nogi photos from the final audition time, you'll find Mukai as being as pretty then as she is now. I think she hasn't changed in her prettiness at all since the beginning. I think we're just catching up to it. But I still want to play catch ball with her!
