I know this isn't the type of show where Sasshi's talk skill can be tested at its best, but I confess I was missing her participating in this kind of amusing show-- it remembers me of Waratte Iitomo and some shows of that time. This One Piece opportunity has been yielding some interesting stuff.

 

^ yeah, the older Sasshi gets the less active jobs she has, and it's only natural, but it's still refreshing to see her on such game shows, on location shootings or shows where she dances/sings (even those become extinct though. as she said in her latest showroom, she won't participate in Utage anymore )

^That’s really awful news about UTAGE. I wonder if she had a falling out with Nakai because he always invited her to his shows and it just stopped cold turkey. There’s a rumor IZ*ONE taped an UTAGE special so the possibility of Sasshi missing out on Sakura and Nako would really suck if true.

Serious question, is Sashihara Prime Minister material? I'm watching Sashihara's Rebellion at the moment and while the concept of this show....completely baffles me lol watching Sashi and her behavior and body language and all that, she really is a very intelligent and very charismatic woman who people just naturally gravitate towards. She can speak to the likes of Aoki and the producer of her show with what appears to be a somewhat disrespectful tone for a hegemonic society like Japan, and yet he took it as if it was completely normal. It seems like very few young people in Japan could get away with that, yet Sashi does get away with it on camera. It is just a testament to how many social norms she has kicked to the curb in the process of going by the beat of her own drum at any cost.

 

I think a lot of people think that she is suited to be politician (heck, even Prime Minister thinks that (42:45)), but the problem(?) is that she herself probably doesn't want to be politician. showbiz is her calling, she operates in it like a duck takes to water. she is very well paid and does what she wants to do, so there is no need for her to go to politics, but who knows what will happen in the future... maybe she'll retire from showbiz at some point and will return as politician.

looks like we finally have an answer to this mystery!

according to this answer from a senior fan, it's her fans that started the whole yellow color thing on their own accord after they came to Kami Koen Yotei (2009) concert in yellow t-shirts that Sasshi wore on a photo for that concert. it wasn't a color that Sasshi liked and it wasn't decided by her or management beforehand either. at that time there wasn't even a culture of official light stick colors in AKB.

 

Thanks for bringing us the answer, fatrain! I imagined it unlikely that Sasshi had chosen yellow as her first color choice, but I was curious where it had come from. Maybe not even Sasshi know how exactly this started, since it's something that came from the fans' side. lol
