Maiyan has once again topped Recomen's "Face Only" Idol Ranking for the 4th year in a row! She beat out Kato Shiho in 2nd place by almost 1,400 votes. Congrats Maiyan!

I mean, of course she's #1. . . but it's a weird list - was the survey done in an alternate universe where only 48/46 idol groups exist?

 

I think there's two main factors for why there's only 48/46 girls:

1. Obviously they have biggest idol presence, particularly the Sakamichi girls of which many of them are exclusive models for fashion magazines popular among young women.
2. Recomen! is a Radio Show that I believe is primarily aimed at women. A lot of their personalities are from Johnny's, and all of their female idol personalities are from Sakamichi Series. Sakamichi girls are popular amongst young women especially with their appearances in the fashion magazines, etc etc. I don't think indie idols are that popular among women, so anyone not pertaining to Aki-P franchises are probably not on their radars at the moment.

Back in 2014 when Hashimoto Kanna was primarily an idol she ranked in the list, and same for Sayumi Michishige. I'm sure once say =LOVE make it bigger Saito Nagisa could make it on the list, but your average listener probably isn't that aware of them yet.

 

i will never get tired watching maiyan cm. she has the perfect commercial face for fashion/makeup advertisment. if only she is taller...

 

Is this confirmed? Saw somewhere else that it's still a rumour.

 

I apologize, it seems that she is just one of the pefect candidates for Yankumi role, "if" they were going to produce the new Gokusen series. Im just too happy and posted it without confirm it first.

Regardless, it's still a compliment to be considered alongside big names like Tsubasa Honda, Kawaguchi Haruna and Hashimoto Kanna.
I hope Maiyan can continue to get a good heroine role, she shows quite a promise with her acting. I like her mini episode of Nogizaka cinema story.

some say it's a double but given the presence of the mole on her chest Im not so sure

 

She has a mole on her chest? I thought she has a mole on her left hand.

 

Yup. I remember there was this playful SNS post re "guess the member" (camera focus on some part other than the face whereas viewers are spurred to try guessing who the member was).

In Maiyan's case, camera starts off on the upper chest part, where the mole is clearly visible

After all, Shiraishi Mai is Shiraishi Mai -- the most gorgeous of all Nogis, ever.

Absolute thumbs up on this short hair because it wasn't a sight that was seen during her time.

 

To me Shiraishi Mai = long hair, not a fan of this.
