So happy we're getting finally new AKB48 concerts! Excited for the setlist and how the new teams work together

 

I really don't know what to expect of the concert announcement-wise. Can't be a single because Hisarippu wasn't even released yet, it won't be a shuffle either because they barely had one. I also think it won't be something like the return of Sousenkyo because a few days ago I read a translation of some girls saying how the atmosphere of the group without SSK changed (I don't remember the exact words), so I think it's unlikely to happen.

Could it be an album? It's been more than 4 years since the last one.
What I'd really enjoy and always have a hint of hope when it comes to announcements, would be the announcement of brand new original stages for the teams. But it's hugely unlikely to happen, given that there's been 6 years since the last one, and more than 11 years since the previous batch of stages for the 3 teams. If it happened, it would be totally because of the "pressure" of SKE having original stages for their teams. It probably won't happen for AKB, but I have a hope of 1% for it to happen. I mean, it would be indeed glorious, wouldn't it? After 9 years since their last Budokan performance, announcing new stages for their teams...I think at this point I'm just daydreaming.

 

Who is managing AKB? Ramzan Kadyrov?

 

I've seen better clearer pictures on a 1950s TV set in a museum.

 

They weren't even based enough to make a busu senbatsu.

Apparently the set up of the stage took half of Budokan.
So the capacity for guests is about half(or less?) of Budokan full capacity.

 

Oh well... with this setting they didn't sell out?

I never expected to get an answer.

 

Welp not one the fans looking for, just announced that Team 8 will end their activities next year. The moment they started playing the montage of their entire history I saw it coming from a mile away tbh

 

yeah team 8 fans totally know this is coming... just was not hoping for it to actually happen.

I was still holding hope that those year by year review was gonna end up in announcement of new sponsor (like Sanrio lol).

 

I'd like to point out one detail: Team 8 wasn't disbanded. Officially, the team goes on hiatus and the eitos will be part of their kennin teams during that hiatus.

Maybe the team can return if they find a sponsor like Toyota? It's unlikely that that will ever happen, but...

 

Doubt it. They prefer saying "hiatus" than disband.

Was that what they said about Team 4 back in 2012?

AKB48 has never played with words. Graduation is graduation. Termination of contract is termination of contract. Hiatus is hiatus. Disbandment is disbandment. That has been true for members, units.
They know this decision is not popular, they simply have no means of supporting them right now. They can barely make MVs without being financed by an outside company.
I believe they said hiatus because they wouldn't say no to bringing it back were that possible, even if it's doubtful. But if that ever happens it would be with another roster. Look how old they are now.

how many people were there? and the attendance was always badly for akb during weekdays, which beg the question as to why mngm still makes week day concerts happen.
