Prelude? Considering Takamina is graduating on the Dec 8th, I am 99.99999999999% certain this is her Graduation concert. Her last theater performance would than take place on the 8th, the 10 Anniversary of the theater.

No Venue announced yet (Just will be in Tokyo). But I'm sure it will be in the Tokyo Dome (Gotta be).

Huh, I thought they would confirm the venue already. Odd. I'm guessing they haven't booked Tokyo Dome yet or are still looking for a venue? (But we all thought Tokyo Dome would be a given...right?)

Anyways, I thought they would make this announcement during the Janken tournament, but doing it early isn't so bad either! I'll take what we can get.

If it's called the 10th Anniversary Live, I think we should assume that's what it is, and not related to Takamina's concert. We'll need to wait for more information though.

The dates are close but they should still be two separate things. As much as I love Takamina, she's not bigger than the whole history of AKB, so they shouldn't make her graduation the focus of the anniversary. My guess is they'll give Takamina her own big concert a little sooner, then give her a special farewell as a part of the 10th anniversary live, so she'll still be a part of it but not the focus.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. They did a similar thing at the 1830m no Yume concert where the first two days were just AKB48G and the last day was mostly focused on Acchan and her graduation. I actually imagined a multi-day concert when I initially read the announcement.

Edit: Also, I love how we can finally talk about the 10th anniversary festivities now. The next few months are going to be super exciting.

 

Yeah, but..... They did not announce two dates. Only the one. Not to say they won't, just unlikely. So with what we do have to go on, still 99.99999999999%.

 

Takamina chose the date thats not very convenient so I guess its not going to be very grand.

Isn't that being a little too technical about the announcement though?

When Takamina announced the date of her graduation, here's how I thought it would go:

• Weekend of December 5th-7th: some grand multi-day anniversary concert to celebrate their 10th anniversary (with all of AKB48G involved - I'll leave the tiny details to everyone else)
• December 6th or 7th (whichever is the last day of the concert): Takamina to have a full-scale concert dedicated to her graduation
• December 8th: AKB will hold its anniversary stage as usual and also probably extend it a bit to include a segment for Takamina, turning it into her graduation stage, or...
• December 9th: Takamina will hold her graduation stage with Team A the day after the anniversary stage (even though that's after the date that she announced, but they could extend it by a day in case the schedule gets too crowded at the anniversary stage)

So...that's how I imagined it. Go ahead, Aki-P, feel free to prove me wrong.

Edit: I fixed my post a bit so that it doesn't seem like I'm implying that Takamina might get a small graduation segment like Mocchi did.

 

There should also be Ultra HD Cameras in that event.

Hey, I am just playin' the cards dealt. I mean they could announce more days. But I would think they would have done that with this announcement.

Is 48G unpredictable? Often. I just don't feel it this time. I think they want to roll the Anniversary and Takamina's grad together. They do play her as the heart and soul of the not just AKB, but the whole 48G. Done right they could honor the group AND Takamina. Separate but together, in one night. And as someone who oshi's another member, I have no qualms with that.

Or maybe it will be two show on the one date. That is still very much a possibility.

It will be grand though, no doubt.

As for celebrating on the 8th. Well that IS the anniversary day of the theater. These type of things, anniversaries, are kind of important for ALOT people. And they have held an anniversary show in the theater every year on that day.

Um, I don't think so at all. I think the exact opposite. Having takamina's grad the same as the 10th anniversary concert is a great honor to her, her last concert is the biggest/most important (after Tokyo Dome) concert AKB has ever done. Knowing how takamina is, I'm sure she wouldn't have it any other way.

10th anniversary+best grads returning + takamina's farewell? Sounds like the almost-perfect concert to me (nothing will beat Tokyo Dome though ^^)! I can't wait ＼(^o^)／

 

Well i disagree, for me the main event and focus for Takamina's graduation concert should be herself.one single concert wouldnt do justice for such important events.

Takamina has graduation permanent termination vibe attached to it. It's clearly sad event while 10th year anniversary should be about celebration. Contradicting isn't it?
Like while G48 after 10 years is still going strong and everybody are looking forward into great future while Takamina is jumping the ship. Hm...

 

December 6th falls on a Sunday, so it's very probable that they'll do two concerts that day like on Ricchan's graduation.
The first one can be the whole celebration thing while the second can feature Takamina's big send-off.

And if it's not in Tokyo Dome I'm gonna be so mad.
