Single AKB48 37th (Kokoro no Placard) 14/08/27

I must say I've never ever seen a more unengaged and overaged audience. Some of them seems to just want to go home. The lightsticks was just slowly waving, if they had such things. Maybe the concert was to long? They've been sitting there for hours.

 

Rofl I dunno if they were drunk but Sasshi and Paruru were definitely less precise than normal... I'd attribute it to the fact that it was late at night and they had already done one performance that night. Also Paruru has been sick recently so that could have played into her performance. Either way they all seemed to be throughly enjoying themselves which is the important thing.

Oh I was so eager to show off AKB48 to my friends that never heard of them yet. Watching NHK live in Hawaii here.
Then AKB48 came up I was embarrassed.

They had better kouhaku years. I'd support them going back to being "Special Medley" kind of performances. Like really? Labrador Retriever Nomination for Japan Record but not performed on Kouhaku?! Not like their Japan Record performance was any better....

Not a hater of this single, just this performance.

 

I'm not sure whether or not the audience was bored... but I sure was.

Even the girls themselves seem tired of that song. There was ZERO energy, and I've seen them perform KNP before and be absolutely RADIANT.

I really hope the next single has some presence.

Do y'all think it might be a February release? I was wondering about this today.. there's no way this next single will have the SSK tickets... the whole janken thing kinda altered the schedule a bit, which makes me think that we're either going to get two singles relatively close to each other.. or an altered SSK that changes things up a bit.

So the album is coming in January... Kibouteki Refrain was a late November release.. So the next single could be like late February or March.. when would the bikini single be then? May?

That was very enjoyable. And it is always nice to see Sakippe on piano.

 

That symphonic version kind of proves Friedman's point that the actual composition is great, but the arrangement not so much

 

Always said it was a good piece of music.

JKT48 english version - excellent
KSquared version - excellent (also starts with an orchestral sound)
Piano/Orchestral version excellent

And Sakippe .... congratulations...lovely playing too, and with an orchestra.

 

Sakiko. When the violins took over that was like so awesome. Were those ninjas though holding the placards? They were kinda scary IMO. LOL. Also kinda sad that they performed that in an empty arena... even if I was the only one in the room I would have totally shouted bravo and given them a standing O.

 

Had a good listen with higher volume and High Def..... that Sakiko piano symphonic version was too good.

Hope they show that on TV, use it as filler between programs maybe. And no small thing for Sakiko to play piano with her peers as it were, a symphony orchestra. And she looked just great too.

Makes you feel proud when you see one of the girls doing stuff at the pro level with peers.

Was gonna ask if this was from Mendiola before I played the vid. Didnt expect this to be from SBCA.

 

Looks like some Bedans got forced to do it lol. But the shyness and awkwardness made the video cuter. And how some teachers and surprisingly lots of students joined in the fun, made it... well... more fun.

Now how I wish I study in San Beda right now just to talk with the other AKB fans from there...

Anyways, a pretty great KnP version.
