The girls definitely got paid. They can't really do all that hard work and practice for nothing, haha. But I don't think anyone really knows how much. And for the record, Gatas are much better players than the AKB girls Gatas train more and are overally more dedicated to the sport.
Yeah, the pay thing - obviously they get paid, but is it like a H!P type deal, where someone like Sato Yukari would get less than someone like Takahashi Minami?
Artists/groups that make it into the top 10 deserve a good amount of money, but being the Japanese music industry, it might be a bit different over there. Yeah the AKB girls are pretty bad, but the rest of the team seems to carry them through (miraculously). I've only seen around 2 of Gatas' matches, and I think they lost the match I saw.
Things could be different in the Japanese idol industry, but the popular members getting paid more makes sense (being put into more of the singles, more promoting of the group, etc). I don't think we'll ever know exactly how much they get paid though.
Actually, there is no home schooling system in Japan. So, they go to public/private school though some of them (such as Nakanishi and Umeda) quited school.
Hmmm, actually they don't perform every day. There are three teams which perform on different days every week. Moreover, they do get a few holidays in between concerts, that's also true. I do expect them to attend school regularly, but the question is "how seriously do they take school when they have to practise Aitakatta after school"?!
Yes. I don't know but since they lived in Kyushu before joining to AKB48, they had to quit school and move to Tokyo. So, maybe they quited school when they joined to AKB48.
you would think they have home-schooling...perhaps, and the older girls, such as Mariko-chan, probably could attend college, but my guess is probably not, since this is her current-career, in showbusiness, as an AKB48'er...lucky for us, cause she is so hot!
^ The thing is, if they ever have to leave AKB or it dies down or something (pray to god it lasts longer then two years. ONYANKO CLUB >.>) They can always go back to high school and University afterwards.
Kind of like Konno when she left Morning Musume to go to university. A lot of the girls still have the chance to go back to school if ever they want to, even Mariko. But idols are always in demand in Japan of course, so if any of the girls ever have to leave AKB, they can just be an idol for another agency or join another group.
mariko-chan can certainly opt'd to do that, if she graduations in a year or so... i know the group isn't that old, in terms of when it started, but, how long have the members stayed so far, i know they started...what....2 years ago, and a few of the girls retired already, don't know their names... Rina, Ayumi, Haruna could attend college soon, they are at that age...
^ I think YES. I got that idea from the girls' private videos. Many of them actually mention that they read the letters from the fans and the letters make them happy. (For example Erepyon and Sae) They also show where they put the letters. So I think they will read the letters but they seldom reply.
