idk but it fell pretty flat for me. I don't 'feel' the song. I prefer an emotional delivery than technical any day, but this is just flat. She played safe thou with the selection of song.

(an example of poor technique but good emotion delivery would be Takahashi Sayaka)

@fanz1302 I'd love to see that, but every one has different vocal range. Some good singers specialize in high note, some in mid-to-low vocal range.

 

2 problems with that:

1. It would be boring listening to the same song and they want to get people watching the broadcast.
2. What song would they choose that would work for singers with a variety of vocal ranges?

 

not only emotions, she also got the power there and yes i know there is a miss but she clear it not with full combo or full excellence so yeah she got A (too much Aビート). And for the flat one for me goes to takahashi jupiter

 

Miss Yamasaki and Miss Yano's performances, I-
I put high hopes on them but wow they snapped too hard.

I have to say this competition (or the judges,specifically) picked the right members to advance. If it's rigged, then Yuyuy and Mikurin would have advanced. What I'm surprised is Churi being lower than top 7, I thought she's gonna be SKE's best.

From what I see, the top 10 gyals seems to put more emotion (and executing it well) in their voices than some girls. There are girls who couldn't handle the key change well, some sound like they're going to scream

A case of good vocalist but damned by hard song? From what I have watched so far, it's Miss Rurina from NMB and Juri. Rurina could have gone far but that song is really not something you can pull off easily. It started okay actually, but that bridge came and it went downhill quick. While, Juri's case, well I told y'all Jupiter could make it or break it, well in her case it's the later.

Miss Toyonaga and the new 8 girl caught me off guard honestly.

I think Miss Nishigata did well, but, not enough to get into the T20.

Edit: Miss Yura should have gotten the Judges Recommendation tbh.

I'm not surprise with YokoYui and Hattsu, both have potential that waiting to explode
What surprise me most is YuiYui at #14, amazingly how she've tried!

 

I'm late to the party, but why is there 2 rankings (the judges recommendation and...the other one?) and which one will proceed to next round?

 

Top 15 and the six judges recommendations go to the finals. 21 total participants.

Why? Because they can....

More likely, they knew they goofed up when Yahagi and Shiroma were NOT in the top 15.

wow Airi has so much potential. She might not learn the proper technic, and need to learn abt head voice. but she has so much potential! So much. It's so good and pleasant to listen without trying so hard. And this should be higher than Okada Nana...

I'm totally not saying this because she sounds the most like me when I sing

But of course I'm rooting for my girl Naachan, there was never any doubt she'd get in. Still, pretty much all of the girls who got through deserve to be there through vocal talent so it's going to be a very tough competition.

The actual finalists ranking is pretty acceptable to me. The majority I'm satisfied about. NGT48 needs to invest in more vocals.

They are not wrong. If she could not finish the competition, she should not have joined. Or pulled out when it became obvious it would conflict with the schedule. Just like the other girls who could not compete.

 

They are wrong. She still could join to prove to everyone that she's a good singer.

Still, that will be unfair as different girls have different vocal ranges and vocal tones. For example, as her voice was naturally high, Juri chose a song of many high notes but, that was impossible to sing for Noe, whose voice was deep and husky, no matter how much her skill improved.
And, if we talk about technique, it won't be fair to judge an enka singer with a classical song and vice versa. Different girls have different technical strengths and weaknesses and no song can compliment those strengths/weakness of all girls equally.
