    - Akai Sweet Pea I think is like over-sung. Feeling meh about it actually...lest Erena channels some of Matsuda Seiko idol power
    - The Shimatani Hitomi song better be her 1st song. Really can't see her progressing with the other song. But still, seems to lack oomph and can be quite forgettable
    - Maybe Erena is just happy to be on the final stage and opted to be content with it?

    Yamauchi Suzuran
    - Might've called her a from left-field winner but she's not really. Maybe some Nagoya magic can bring about a strong finish?
    - Dare Yori Suki Nanoni seems like a good pop-ballad for her to showcase her strong vocals
    - TOMORROW like Akai Sweet Pea is also perhaps over-sung. Though searching for a MV for it unearthed this fellow generation member's cover from 2014 :blush:

    Churi-san
    - SKE has really turned up in force with their current lineup. Churi provides a solid backbone
    - both songs build into a epic build up and if her vocals match, we'll be in for a good time listening
    - Having said that, I can see the showa-era jokes from Kanashimi ga Tomaranai shading on Churi's err..seniority [hehe]

    Yahagi Moeka
    - I think she chose very wisely and really fits her abilities. Powerful songs with impact and if pulled off, really brings on the attention
    - Might actually give Naachan (my predicted winner) a run for her money
    - Hope she performs Hitomi first. Would really like to hear how she would sing it

    does Toyonaga Aki have the voice? i might turn into her fan if she did well ☺ Love this classic song. and it's defintely not easy to ace this song.

    Akiyoshi Yuka - well that's quite brave. 366日 is deceiptfully easy.. but it's not easy at all. it's easy to get flat (and out of tune, even HY gets out of tune a lot) at this. So i'd look forward to her rendition of the song.


    Others... are meh. And don't even get me started on akai sweet pie

    I think they have the best technical and stable voices.

    For the 1st round, the 20 finalists will be divided in 4 blocks and each of the top 4 members from the qualifications are in a different block
    The top 2 from the first round will advance to the very final one where they'll perform their 2nd song

    Was waiting for them to post the complete detail on the blocks but apparently it will be announced later on Showroom (AKB official showroom). They will announce it on Jan 8, 21:00JST.

    Also from today until Jan 10th, the contestant can practice and do appeal on SR using the karaoke function. Now, I'm not sure whether they can sing their chosen song but I assume they can since otherwise it won't be any different than other member since everyone now can do karaoke on SR using the built-in karaoke function but limited to 48G/46G and I believe =LOVE song. We just have to wait and see.

    wow the ranks are so messed up.
    a lot of the predicted ranks #11 are actually much better than #4 onwards. I'm betting #2, one of the #11s to rank #1... if not then urghhh

    The contestant other than the top 4 can pick which group and the order that they wanted (so they pick C3 for example and not just C). When 2 contestant have the same pick, it will be a lottery. It ended up like that. Only 1 picked A, which is Shirayuki Kohaku. 3 contestant picked B. 5 picked C and 6 picked D.

    The group performance order
    C-D-A-B (by lottery), so Mirurun will sing first and Rissen last (C1~C5 then D1~D5, etc).

    Top 8 + Oda Erina will get a special live.

    Airi got sick in a really bad timing (she picked LGM songs too). I think she might win in her group if she's in her 100% condition, but now idk, the fact that she might withdraw too.
