I don't mind when it's members who are established beating one another out but kenkyuuseis who I've never even heard of outranking members like Yokoyama Yui is just nonsense, imo. My assumption is, Hama-chan was hoping for the fact she'd get invited to the show either way in the future, maybe because she's been there a couple of imes and was well received? I personally grew to love her a lot, I think she's hilarious and I'd definitely like to see more of her. I'm hopeful she'll get invited for being herself

 

also note that Hama-chan already has the Kansai show and her own radio show, while Kotone doesn't have anything.
It's also not clear whether Hama could attend all the recordings.
