I really like her old school stuff, pre-hiphop. For some reason, her newer stuff hasn't really caught my attention for very long. The last thing I really, really liked of hers was Say the Word, and that was like 6 years ago. Not that her stuff is bad, and not that I don't like the hip hop stuff as Heartsdales and Bennie K are totally awesome, but her stuff just seems a little too.. generic, maybe? I dunno. I don't hate it, though. It just doesn't stay in my playlist for too long.
Well I haven't payed much attention to the new Namie stuff either. I don't like her "really" old stuff from her debut. But I like songs such as : can you celebrate, no more tears and come. But I also like her hip hop'ish style of music, I have her "Queen of Hip Pop" which I think is a nice album. But then songs like "violet Sauce" made me loose interest. Then I heard her new song "Hide & Seek" and I actually find it really cathcy...
BUY PLAY Seriously, one of the best J-pop albums in a LONG time. Even if you're not a fan of 'hip-hop' Amuro, she has something for everyone on this album. It's truly amazing.
^ agreed! PLAY is really good. even though i dont like her songs genre but PLAY doesnt make me bored to death.
I also like "PLAY" maybe because I'm totally addicted to "Hide & Seek" I've also thought of buying the album.
Used to like her, but her really earlier works. Like "A Walk In The Park" a lot. Dear God, isn't that a very old song of hers?
Namie is great. i haven't really heard much of her older stuff yet, i became a fan of hers in 2004, with the song "ALARM" her PLAY album is also really good, it has all of my favorite songs on it ^_^
