Glad to know it's doing well, I already did my part to support the movie by watching it several times :p

So, objectively, is it good or not? Without biased of course. :p

I'm interested about this also... haven't watched the movie yet. The content material (manga) was unique since it showcased Naginata, but the story is quite your typical sports manga (hardwork, friendship, believe, etc. etc.).

So I guess being good/not will be reflected more by member's performances and the production. So far I've seen some "in the making" cuts and saw Shiraishi and Ito Marika did quite a good one. Other than that, I dunno

Asahinagu wouldnt has chance to rank if it's release on manatsu. They choose good timing. This is showed in less 150 theater, so the result is good.

As expected Marika praised here and there for her acting with Reika and Iku following.

Hmmm, if I rate, i'd give it a 3/5 rating, it's an OK movie, funny,a bit of drama and the naginata scenes were good but I have no base to compare it with though. There were some over-the-top acting which I think was intentional (no idea how live Japanese movies are like since this is the first I've seen, I watched a lot of anime though but it's different)
Story is just simple (can't compare with the manga since I have not read it)
    Acting well ...
    - Nanase <3 needs to work more on her acting
    - Marika,Maiyan were good - can project different types of emotion
    - Ikuchan good but just few screen time and dialogue (liked the last scene of Nene Ichido though kinda showed the tough on the outside, marshmallow on the inside kind of person)
    - Sayuringo's character is quite similar to her Bemars' , it was sometimes annoying
    - Reika did ok with her kinda yankee character

    Maybe it's a dumb question.
What is the difference of Naginata and Kendo's weapon?
And then, these 2 sports are so similiar, isn't it? They both using same protector mask and same uniform. Cmiiw.

Naginata is a pole weapon. The shinai, which is used for Kendo, is a sword.

Can't say much about the technique itself, though. They're probably similarities and differences between the two sport.

Yeah, Naginata is much longer than Shinai.
I'm still confused the difference between these 2 sports.

    Anyway, thanks.

They explain the difference between the sports in the first few chapters of the manga. Probably available in English.
    Copying from them,
As well as the weapon difference there's differences in striking.
In Kendo you can hit their mask, their chest and their arms. In Naginata you can hit their legs too.
In Naginata you can only hit with the curve of the weapon. The other parts don't count.

I found the movie very good.
Lots of overacting and stupid jokes but that's an inherent part of Japanese movies.
But other than that the acting was mostly high quality.
Most girls were convincing enough that they were high school students at least.
Sayurin can't act. Her character was the same as Bemars and nothing like her manga counterpart.
Kubo would've been perfect for the role.

Gentle, kind, caring. Sweet in a way that's not annoying.
    Quiet and timid.
Kubo's "chara", which is what I added her at the end for.

^Okay got it. I thought you added Kubo because she would be really good in the role and not because of her personality.

I wonder if the manga fans hate the change?
