[BOOKS THREAD] Senbatsu Sousenkyo Official Guidebook (5/13)

i thought it would be a good idea to create a thread to talk and post about all the different book/sp. magazine releases akb has nowdays.

especially now that they release like new books every month and a place to discuss all of them would be more successful than creating a thread per book or discussing it in the general akb thread (hopefully it will work as an archive thread as well) or you know, not mentioning it at all.

so yeah, use this thread to post when new books are announced and to discuss older books as well.

i got the AKB History today ;____; omg its so amazing

i only read the Team A chapter so far but T_T. and there are a lot of interesting stuff that i didnt know too so its really interesting. anyone that can read enough japanese should get it.

hopefully i'll get the election book later today. if not tomorrow >_> (its already here in my city, f*cking send it DHL >_>)

I want the election book however haven't got around to picking it up yet. Should do that as I was looking forward to it and for some reason thought it came out same day as single ^^;

Is AKB History really that good? Someone give me idea of type of things in it please, I want to know if worth buying

Have any scans appeared of the senbatsu election guidebook yet? And the oshi book. I want it.

And the history book - is there anything particularly interesting in it you guys can share? any interesting facts?

i have been reading the AKB history Book, and it's rather interesting and at times, made me cried.

Topics covered include how AKB started from a piece of flyer, how the first audition started, and the formation of Team A, K, and B..(and much much more). Throughout the entire book, you will be reading interviews/ comments by members on their feelings and what they have been through.

Some chapters include "Team K: Friends or Rivals?", "The Jurina Shock", "Senbatsu, Part A and B", "Cross the River", "Janken Senbatsu", and a few Kouhaku chapters. Takamina's comments on Kouhaku is strong.

This book is good for anyone who wants to know more about the history of AKB, the internal conflicts and emotions and feelings of the girls, and what they have been through. And personally, it was an eye opener when I read that the one of the lesson for them was "You girls are not friends, but RIVALS!" And it continued that way until their first major concert. And the Mariko Gen 1.5 story was motivating (for me that is).

Well, don't wanna spoil the fun of reading for you guys.. So, grab the book if you have around JLPT N3 level (?).. I'm currently studying N3 level stuffs and am able to understand 50% - 70% of the book.

P.S: was reading this book to kill time while waiting for the concert to start in SG.

That is the one were some writer/comedian/etc writes about his/her oshi (there is one writer for each of the girls).

No interviews with the girls in it.

• I got my AKB history book (with the Blue Yusatsu Album~) today ;____;
  
  Right now, it scares me and I feel like I'm going to take at least three years to read it xDD but I'll hang on~ this is the best way to learn \o/
  I'm feeling like Champollion with the Rosetta Stone. Plus the fact I already know kanas, a few kanjis, grammar and a bit of vocab xD

I might buy the history book with future releases, but right now there's no way in hell I'll understand
My Japanese skills have improved lots, so buying it might encourage me to keep learning

I tossed the election book in with my AKB and SNSD albums, I already have the AKB oshi book, I really wish I could read it [sweat]
