Choose One Song to Represent AKB48 as a Whole.

If you guys had to choose one song from the entire discography to represent AKB48, which one would it be and why?

 

Heavy Rotation since it IS the song that represents AKB as a whole

 

I chose UZA two times, once to my sister's boyfriend and once to my friend. I have tried representing more generic idol songs from their discography but they didn't like them. I always get the answer "I really dislike this
cute music where they just jump around" But it was different with UZA, I could see the suprised look from their faces when I played the song, and heard phrases like "This is AKB?" "So different" "I love the powerful
beginning of the song" And they ended up loving the song a lot. This is why I would choose UZA.

 

River because it's my favorite

 

i will pick "kibouteki refrain"

its a song about hope. which is the concept of akb itself.
and the mv is about regeneration

and most of their songs have alot of nice reff as well.

 

Shoujotachi yo
It feels empowering as a female fan. It has a strong feel to the melody, good lyrics and all that good jazz. After all it's THE song that got me into AKB. It makes me feel like, "oh so AKB can be this encouraging".

 

Guys come on, it has to be Hone Hone Waltz

Not my all time favorites, but they’re nice.

On the real tho...

I mean they literally play KFC on every music program/concert/stage/event nowadays and it is also a staple song for new SG to perform and of course the multiple languge rendition of it. It's the most iconic AKB song I'd say.

It's positive, it's fun, easy to dance to, catchy, good lyrics, and the song itself has an interesting AKB history context to it. Would definitely be a top pick for me as THE song to introduce to my friends and say "this is AKB".

With this much depth in a song I would pick KFC. It even has a black guy DJ, hostess, pro-wrestler (Talks about foreshadowing) and gay flags in it LOL

And the abbreviated name for this song is fricking KFC LOL How cool is that!? Finger lickn good.

 

Soredemo Suki Da Yo

 

If I had to choose - so my own opinion of AKB - probably, "River". It was their first #1 and the lyrics really represented the struggle AKB was going through to become national idols. Heavy Rotation probably excelled their popularity tho and I can see why it would be chosen as "that" AKB song (since fans and non-fans know it).

The reason I don't choose KFC is solely because that type of sound wasn't really what AKB was known for (if that makes sense). By the time KFC released, AKB was very established as top idols in the industry. It is a great song tho and it suits almost everybody (children-adults).
