nobody even buys physical copies if not just for collection as hardcore fans, or cause they need them for things like HS events. That's why the oricon chart is not that relevant anymore and people switched on the billboard one cause it reflect more the weekly real popularity of the songs.
Streaming is the major consume atm, we all know.

Here's the last one, Route246 debuted at 10 and now is 15th. They usually debut at 1 (all 48 and 46 groups) thanks to the huge physical sales on first week, but then they often collapse.

People in Japan definitely buy physical copies.

But a lot of artists are on streaming now, so it seems likely Japan would just skip over the "download digital copy as an MP3" phase and jump right from physical copies to streaming.

I mean Sekai was on Spotify right away so why not this one? Seems like they're hoping for big digital download sales but I can't see that happening.

 

No they don’t? Other than idol fans and enka fans. In general tho, people in japan don’t particularly buy any more CDs nowadays than any other country.

Just because some people still buy CDs it does not mean it’s any indicator of popularity or success. If there isn’t some sort of tie-in like handshake or event tickets nobody buys the physical copies.

The actual full MV isn't out yet still...hopefully they'll release it real soon! If so, maybe they were just waiting for it to come out globally first before releasing the MV to the public.

 

This not having released the MV weeks after the song's release is just weird. I mean it's promotion that would contribute to sales if nothing else.

 

Maybe the MV was never meant to be released.

 

I knew I wasn't imagining seeing Hinachima in the back. I'm the type of fan that likes the variety show and to see all of the unique personalities. I love Hinachimafor her looks and sweet personality. But I really like the weirdo personalities like Wada and her impressions of other members, Aachan because she's just weird to me, and I miss Noujo acting like a creepy dude in the skits they do. I also like Ikuchan when she does the male Playboy skit and treats the girls like throwaway possessions. Isn't she looking different lately and not in a good way like she's losing too much weight? After Maiyan left I suddenly don't care about the 1st gen like I used to. Like I think most should retire and move on. I wish Hori would retire too. Ever since the 2nd gen came on she's always trying to grab tv time. Kakki is the only 4th gen I like as of now.

I mean it still sounds like a dodgy Eurovision entry from the mid 90s, right down to the random English . . . but, I do enjoy that 1:06 Kazumin forehead though. Looking damn good, Kaz.

Excellent cover. They managed to interpret it much more dynamically than the original, which makes it much less repetitive.

 

And yet it still has the same number of WOWs

 

Drop to 28 this week

 

I thought the MV will be dropped on August 28th.

 

I like that Play.Goose cover. The bass and the acoustic guitar seem to mellow out the sound - not so much electronic anymore. Personally, this is their best Nogi cover yet. Like that they match the purple of Nogizaka. Also, keytars kind of rule!

 

The more I watch the video the more I think that Ikuchan is looking too skinny. Has there ever been an outfit that they have worn that looks as flimsy (the tops) as this one?

Really nice cover. I remember that it is also because of them (then Goose House) that I discovered Nogizaka46, with their cover of Synchronicity way back in 2018.
