Single Digital Single [Route 246] (2020/07/24)

I have to say I've really been warming up to Route 246 over the last few weeks. I actually really like it. Its been in my head all the time and I listen to it a lot.
I don't get why people don't like the wowowow part. That's actually part that gets in my head the most. The only thing that's kind of weird is the awkward English but I guess it sounds fine if you're Japanese and it actually starts sounding cute after awhile.

 

I'm digging the Play Goose version, it goes straight to my player.
still can't stand the Nogi version...

 

The abundance of Wows doesn't help when the song is already quite repetitive to begin with. The chorus is repeated many times and its melody is integrated in other parts as well, even though this melody only has two variations (iirc). And when someone's not really a fan of that melody, it becomes a problem.

It sure is catchy, can't deny that. The song immediately pops in my head even when I just see the promotional pic.

Repetitiveness isn't always a bad thing though, depending how it's utilised. I can easily listen to a 15 minute Burzum song repeating the same riff over and over. Difference with that music is that even though it is repetitive, it is also subtly progressing, like a shifting baseline or an alternating drum pattern. That kind of stuff keeps me hooked and it's something I miss in Route 246.

 

So about that Route 246 full MV...it's going to be part of the upcoming All MV Collection 2 release. (Limited edition runs only)

Is there an HS event for this digital single? I read on some thread in this forum that said this single sale was boosted by the HS event.

 

As far as I know, there's not HS events as for now for this single, so both route 246 and "Dare ga..." sales are digital ones.

Since on Nogichuu they're doing episodes where they talk about the MVs to promote tha All MV Collection, I wonder if they're gonna talk about the route 246 video too and show part of it.
