What day is the actual event? The 8th?

Honestly I hope Acchan opts out. She went out with such a bang and AKB has spent the year adapting to life without her. Why does she need to come back?

I agree. It would be unfair for the current members to not get any promotion because Acchan is taking up a spot in the election. I don't think she'll return

Members who've left because of scandals probably won't return

But Meetan  she's really popular now after she's left. At minogashita 2 everyone was cheering when she went on stage. She could rank highly

Yaaaaaaaaaay exciting! Now we just need some single news! I'm going to allow myself to splurge and buy four copies so I can cast one vote per group. I do look forward to reading about users here who buy dozens of copies to support their oshi.

That graduated members inclusion could be huge, potentially, but I really don't expect many former members to include their candidacy. I certainly doubt Acchan would, although she'd surely be a shoo-in for senbatsu then. But I think it would be kind of demeaning for a graduated member, especially a long-gone one, to suddenly campaign and then not get ranked, or get ranked as a Future Girl or something. As much as I'd love to be able to cast a vote for Yuka or Meetan, I think their chances of making senbatsu would be pretty slim, so I dunno.

Seems Nacchan (Natsumi Hirajima) might be the most probable graduated member who will submit application form

What?! A graduate member can join the election? I'm not agree with this. Graduation is graduation. She had left akb. There's no way to participate in this big event. I hope no graduate member will include candidacy..

    Aki-p is trolling again :awesome:

I guess we'll now in (around) 2 weeks who will run and who will not. Damn, this is turning pollitical. :XD:

As for the graduate members... why only the members who were 4 years in the group? To me, it would make more sense something like... "graduate members who left more than 2 years ago" just for the memories and such.
You can bet that if Acchan applies, she'll crush the competition because fans will go crazy over her since it may be the last time (again...) they see her in AKB. And I really hope she applies, just for the LOLZ.

I guess the girls who didn't rank last year will not apply so they don't go under the shame of not ranking again.
I hope W-Tomomi don't (if that article saying they will graduate after the Budokan is true, they won't even be around for the election).
And I wonder if KKS can apply to... and if so, will Minegishi? She'll probably go to the UG after all that happened. Will she be fine with that? Maybe it's the only chance she has to sing something with someone who is not a KKS until... god knows when.

    Damn, all the possibilities. :^O^:

It would be her choice, she would have to opt-in. I really wouldn't expect her to do that. I think it's going to be interesting to see which former members DO decide to participate, but unless management somehow persuades them I just don't see it being as dramatic a change as it sounds.

I wonder if there will be any members of the groups at this point who won't apply for the sousenkyo. Some members might not want to take part in it

I find this "also graduated members" thing pretty weird. Right now I just hope that Kenkyuusei can apply, too (esp. someone like Kaotan, who ranked last year).

What I find good is that they are going for four ranking groups again instead of what they did until 2011.

Okay guys. Stop spamming and read the OP. It's all there.

It's current members as of March 31st so the above-mentioned SKE members aren't considered graduated members. Still - whether graduated or not - ALL members will have to decide whether they want to be part of it or not. Current members are NOT automatically a part of the election.

Question is, what graduate members would be willing to come back for this event? I wonder why Aki-p did this, perhaps he's got one girl already confirmed? I bet it's Ono Erena!

Almost any girl who comes back would probably draw the ire of a lot of fans because they'd be pushing out their oshimen. Well I think fans would be ok with Acchan (she'll never do it) and perhaps the most recent grads like Masuda Yuka, Sato Natsuki, and Nakaya Sayaka.

In fact we still can't make assumption until 7th April., because as HRP said, they have to fill the form to be candidate to the 5th election. We listed the potential eligible, but not the actual members who will participate.

In my opinion, it's more like a gamble than something else. If you are graduated or graduating, on the one hand you make a huge impact because people want to support you for the last time like request hour, or on the other hand you get a fall in the vote and you get really frustrated.

Really this new candidacy option really disturb me a lot. I know Members like Acchan or Ono will not participate ( Acchan applying would be like announcing 3rd world wide war). But for member like Wtomomi, kuumin or shiori, they may be tempted to apply for a last farewell, and got a huge push since it's the last time they get supported.

I'm really excited for Appril 7th. Only at this date we can start making insane prediction. But for the moment, we have no clue of members who apply or not.

PS : i want Yuko to participate. To me she is already beyond this election, but to put a fight to Mayuyu would be the highest proof of respect to the next generation. To be beaten fair and square, it's like acknowledging the new generation to be ready for the next chapter. If she doesn't participate it's almost sure Mayuyu will be center, and it will taste like a "given" position. I'm sure Mayuyu want to take the Ace position by her strength, not because Yuko gave her.

Yonezawa tweeted that she isn't interested in participating.

    https://twitter.com/rumiii0606/statuses ... 2876968962

That's not much of a surprise. Her and Nacchan are pretty much undesirables considering their scandal. Ono isn't exactly on too good terms with AKB and Meetan is a married woman (although she might be there just for yucks). For N-nacchi it won't be an option just as well as it won't be Masuda. Acchan is out for good and won't make anyone happy by being there. Nakayan isn't likely to take part due to her all-too-recent graduation and voice actress auditions. I don't exactly see Oku have the guts or enthusiasm to sign up either.
Still I'm sure we'll see a number of alumni signing up. Management wouldn't be opening this option if they didn't know already that some were going to join in.
