Strange to think that had this whole virus thing not happened we'd PROBABLY have a new Hinatazaka single coming out soon - they really were just churning them out.

That said, I'm, sort of relieved the girls get to have a bit of a break. I DO wish they had a bit more of an online presence though, when you compare the Sakamichi groups to other idol groups - AKB, Momoclo, Beyooooonds, etc - who are posting videos to YouTube every day and being a lot more visible and interactive. . . seems like a managerial missed opportunity to promote your groups, not just during the current circumstances but just in general.

These are the results for the annual Nikkei poll for 2020 where they poll idols and other celebs and figure out their general recognition (whether the person can recognize the name and face) and interest (whether that person is interested in seeing them, watch them person, get to know them, etc.)

So Hinata individual member recognition still relatively low, but their relative interest is super high! Miipan and Miho are one of the few idols with interest over 85% which is awesome.

 

I would really, really like to see Miipan centre a single and become more prominent again at some point. Also:
