so there are two events that happening one from star mall and the other from Okada(this is unannounced?). They will be having a Nationwide Mall Tour next year which they really need to get known.
We will get a new MV on Christmas.

MNL48 were invited to perform in Snow festival in Japan and a quick search this is the Sapporo Snow Festival which is on Feb. 4-11, 2019.

    Finally a Nationwide MallTour.
Erica from Davao has tons of fans I believe. She's pretty excited for this I believe. Also Lara.

Let's pray 2019 will be a good year for our girls. ;) I don't frequent here now, I've been frequenting FB and Twitter where Filipinos most reside.

So that visit by some guys from Sapporo is for something. :chuffed:

That Okada thing... is kinda weird. My guess is that Sheki and some of the girls are just visiting to spend their day offs, or maybe they are there for a business-related meeting.

edit: uh, never mind, they indeed performed there. lol what's happening. it seems they were invited to a private event. nux, fancyshmancy! :D

How the hell did MNL48 managed to get a mini Gig at Okada the Cove?

Come and get a taste of the Pink's Hot Dogs and Ramen restaurant by the Food Court inside the Casino while you there. Worth every peso.

Now excuse me while I as a rich Upper Class Snob of Elitist and Supremacist values laugh maniacally while eating a Chili Dog on top of a Hot Tub.

I was there once in the Cove during the San MIguel Oktoberfest and it was a really nice place to be. Pool, and 2 Stages although for MNL I wouldn't reccommend the Main Stage because the seating is smaller than the actual stage. The poolside is indeed much better strategically speaking but it would barely fit 16 of the girls at a time whilst the Main Stage can support all of them plus the Kenkyu's.

Ugh.... what I worry about even from the start is that MNL48 gets politicised... (is there such a word? Lol)

yeah its been a word ever since.

I honestly thought that Jaguar was just a dark colored German Shepherd (I own one) due to the angle of the first shot.

Chavit Singson haha. Btw he also helped in launching of Miss Universe pageant in PH last 2017.

HHE is probably trying to get him as BIG investor and sponsor of MNL48 in the future.

If I were the kind of person to be triggered, I'd be triggered by Catriona Gray. The reason she gets support is because it's a "beauty pageant" (seriously, I don't want to keep typing for fear of my eyes rolling out of my head. I am not cool enough to pop them back in their sockets). They think people around the world actually care who wins so they think, "OMG LOOK FILIPINA BEAUtY!"

I am seriously going to get sick if I keep typing.

It's too bad Filipinos aren't as interested in talent.

    *sigh*
I was really hoping you weren't the first one to respond to this.

I'll forgive you because I know you're not Filipino. Yes, I know you're married to one, but regardless you will always have an "outsider looking in" perspective.

Like itachi said, the Miss Universe pageant is HUGE in the Philippines, with Gray being the fourth Filipina winner overall, and part of huge line of top tens in recent years. But the way I see it, the pageant was not the point.

Where I was trying to steer this conversation is that the Filipinos are competitive in general, and will fiercely support our own regardless of the competition. And this is especially true regarding international competition. Just look at Manny Pacquiao, Lea Salonga, Charice Pempengco (before the whole name change thing). Would you say they're talentless? My point is that as long as Filipino makes a significant impact outside of the Philippines, the Filipino media WILL claim them as their own. National pride and all that. Why? Because the Philippines likes to win. I mean, everyone does. But more so the Philippines because we hardly win anything, so it means more when we do. The beauty pageant craze is merely a factor of this, especially because (apparently) the Philippines is really good it.

And to answer my own question in my post, I KNOW where that love is gonna come from. MNL will not truly be recognized in the Philippines until they've seen them "competing" with groups in a similar fashion. In other words...
    AKB48 Group Asia Festival 2019.

As long as MNL makes a good impression and the Philippines can see that MNL can do what all these foreign groups are doing there (but better?), that's when MNL will start making waves in the Philippines.

And even if they don't, that's when the Filipinos will really start talking about them anyway.
Because Filipinos stick together like rice.

I don't now if I'm being the pesimist one here but I remember people in mnl48 twitter saying PFC will shookt the Philippines and will be a massive hit but that didn't happen. Yes, it's the fastest MV to get views and yes, it did reach #1 in Myx (today!) despite TNS charting in Myx for weeks and yes, they fished new fans with PFC but basically MNL48 is still generally hated/mocked.

So I have mixed feelings with the Asia Festival in Thailand. People are saying this might be the chance that the masses will accept and support MNL48 but I don't know.....

But MNL48 achievements so far are no joke, even with PFC all I can say they are rising up and good things are definitely in store for them.

I'm just really a bit impatient. I want January or February to come sooner and I wanna see if people will start to like them after the Thailand concert.

if anything, the asia festival might actually be the pushing factor that gets other filipinos to really take a look at them. it's like what are-kun said, filipinos really love to win and especially love it when their kind do well overseas/internationally. hell, if the media's always ready to mention some kind of filipino achievement of anything in, well, anything, who's to say they're not going to at least mention our girls? :)

i'm just hoping for the best! i mentioned mnl48 to my mom before and even tried to tell her about the 48g system, but like most non-fans, she didn't like the whole "pabebe" thing lol. i've got my fingers crossed for the event in thailand to change her mind ><
