I think posts about Renapon should be in her thread since she has graduated. :^^;:

@nokoru Extended discussion about it sure, but if it's part of a summary of NGT news then imho there's no reason it can't be here, and touched on briefly by other posters. (That would be the case with any member though, even the non-graduated ones.) The only stuff that doesn't belong here is further rants and opinion pieces related to the "case".

Yes, in an ideal world just the news that relates to NGT as a whole would end up here, but neither of the summary posters have shown interest in filtering the news, and I'm not about to volunteer so...

This is encouraging. Strengthening the bonds between members (all the members) is exactly what NGT desperately needs.

While the snakes are still in the group there's no point. Like a mad scientist trying to revive a corpse with lightning bolts, you might get a shambling thing tottering about but it's not going to be really alive.

I also particularly love the part that starts off like this:
"In NGT48, which I'm a member of... well, all of you might know a little about it already, but it was on the news, there was a lot of stuff ... so now the occasions I have to stand on stage are fewer. There are no plans for the next stage but recently we have begun doing basic lessons, last week I spoke I had muscle pain, this week too I had lessons every day [...]"
Cute. They didn't seem to have any problems doing theater shows back in February/March (whoever paid attention to them, by the way?) while "lots of stuff" was underway, now you are blaming it on the members that your management has driven away more than a month ago already, when it's more likely that it's due to your rental contract hanging by a thread?
Also, is it the management's strategy around these days to constantly use members to make such a big deal out of basic kiddy lessons, which is probably just to draw in sympathy all the while AKS refuses to answer to the local press about the most basic management issues after all these months (up to now, we were left to crime prevention buzzers)?
That Homma is all thumbs when she talks is something anyone could already see by watching exactly these stage MCs in the past, incidentally it was usually Maho the one that had to provide tsukkomi while at it. Can't exactly blame her for not being fit for that, at least. Now that she has to run on her own she is just bad to listen to in one single go, tho.

Speaking of the amazing "kizuna" that exist in NGT, she could have had the decency of not treating the incident like it was nothing of her concern and run away like some other members did (take as a reference the graduation letter Maho dedicated to Rena, more about it in the appropriate thread) or she could have had the decency to go visit Riko at the hospital once in the same period if doing the former felt uncomfortable to her.
After you -- collectively speaking as an organization, with a few exceptions -- chose to unperson your own group's members and throw into the memory hole half a year of your own group's life without learning anything out it, any talk about "kizuna" you can make up as an afterthought stories just flies out of the window. In just the same way, even forsaking the whole group would be just as easy, especially given how forgettable it is.

With such awesome ex-captains in the group (one who feels annoyance that her manicure was spoiled by a graduation news -- another one who suddenly acts scared about an intimidation fax that was sent directly to the city officies and the police of all places and which they strategically sat on for weeks, telling through an agency spokesperson how she is psychologically at her limit, only to be later seen having fun at the top of the Tokyo Tower free of any worries or any security), it is all a matter of passing the test of human decency and not insulting people's intelligence, before anything else.

Frankly no matter whether a member is involved or not involved in anything that has happened up to now hopefully they are _all_ safe and have not had any issues due to this event.

So I was the one who originally pulled the assault case out of the general thread because this thread was then, understandably, becoming nothing but discussion about the assault. Any discussion that big deserves its own thread, especially so that other small news and conversation can happen in the General Thread.

The issue is that news about the assault has slowed down and much of SWS's updates, as informative as they are, have become only tangentially related. Though, not completely unrelated. The recovery/lack-thereof of NGT and Maho and friends couldn't be said to be completely unrelated. It all definitely fits within the purpose of the general thread (yes, that includes news about graduated members as long as it's not a post about just one of them), but we obviously wouldn't want to see the thread flooded with just one discussion again.

So it's difficult, and the mod jury is hung. Hence uncertainty and mixed messages.

More from management (posted on Discord), much of it about security. Again, copy and paste doesn't work, so here is a screen shot of the introduction.

    http://stage48.net/forum/index.php?threads/which-fandom-do-you-identify-with.22968/

I made a thread before asking Stage 48 members to choose only one group from all of 48G and Sakamichi groups, and the result showed that the votes for Nogi + Keyaki combined were more or less the same for the votes for all 48Gs.

Now I am wondering which fandom do stage 48 members identify more? 48G? Sakamichi? And now that we have Izone and we were even allowed to vote for Korean members in the annual stage 48 poll, I won't be surprised if there are stage 48 members who joined the forum because of Izone. I will put International 48G as a separate choice for those who identify more as a fan of an international sister group than any Japan 48G.

I intend to post this in all general threads so as to invite the fans of each group to cast their votes. Downside though that is that those who subscribe to more than one general thread will get a notification for this more than once, so sorry for the notif.

    Thank you :)

What's your favorite Japanese 48 or 46 group?

    http://stage48.net/forum/index.php?threads/whats-your-favorite-japanese-48-46-group.23006/

Two years ago, I made the same thread and Keyaki (92 votes) got the most votes followed by Nogi (69 votes, 1 vote higher than AKB). However, a lot has happened the past two years and we now have more groups. So if asked the same question, will Keyaki still be the favorite group of more stage 48 members? Or with the formation of Hinatazaka, will Keyaki lose a significant amount of votes?

I intended to include Izone but I reached the limit for number of options with just the Japanese groups. I can't even include the international sister groups. Thus I changed the question to just Japanese groups.

Please cast your vote :) Thank you.

From 08/01, they are lifting the sns ban.
But they keep some specific rules such as forbiding direct messages.
The members will have some lessons on how to use and behave with social medias
(If anyone can be more precise on this, please do)

Also it looks like the comments will be hidden on the sns platforms.

The theater might re-open at a later date.

Well, to me this notice seems to be mainly about 1) showing how they can now easily punish any member that tries to do what Maho did; 2) Kato should be more careful on Instagram; and (a distant) 3) show how they're trying to reduce inappropriate contact with fans.

    Anyway, here's my translation:

Notice Information on the reopening of NGT48 members’ SNS
    2019.07.31

Thank you very much for always supporting NGT48.

The members' SNS, which have been suspended since 11pm on May 21st, will be be resuming sequentially after 6pm on August 1st. Furthermore, they will not all simultaneously resume posting that day, but it will vary between members.

So far we have had repeated discussions with the members and the AKS digital content division staff, and have decided on the following formal “NGT48 SNS Rules of Use”.

    (1) Members are prohibited from sending DMs, which have the potential to be equivalent to giving favorable treatment to specific fans in an exclusive space.

    (2) Members are prohibited from un-following 48 Group members without permission, as this is likely to give birth to speculation, may wound your fellow members, etc.

While SNS is an invaluable means of communication between fans and members, it is also transmitted to many other people. Depending on the timing and the manner in which it is expressed, it may be received in a way different from it’s original intention, which depending on the situation may hurt people’s feelings or bestow unpleasant sentiments.

In accordance with this, during the SNS prohibition we invited outside specialists to come in several times to give short courses concerning implementation, and worked to improve the awareness of both members and staff to both the size of the reach and the risks of SNS, and again to be self-aware regarding the basics of communication.

Up to now, members have made many updates to their SNS every day, but by no means is SNS an obligation, it is a communication tool for each member to enjoy themselves.

After the short courses, the members again chose which SNS tools they would personally use.

Because we considered that excessive control and over-thinking would weaken the members’ individuality and the feelings they want to convey, from here on the management will take care that information will be disseminated so that everyone can enjoy it.
Also concerning the kenkyuusei that have been using Instagram, we will be suspending this and will be converting them to using 755. We hope you understand that, if and when they are promoted to a regular member, we will consider if it is practical to restart it.

We look forward to your continued support of NGT48.

I had to silence a tweet some week ago, after some AKS/NGT fans went on and on about how mngmnt had PROPERLY dealed with Maho's case, take care of the remaining girls and how we wanted members live in a sort of prison
...like I said today, after seeing this "prohibite-unfollowing" rule go around, no need for that, NGT mnmgnt is already doing itself.

What I find frankly absurd is the ridiculous attempt to sell it as a measure to protect the girls, those same girls to which they are taking away the means used by Maho, Rena and Riko to voice their dissent while still in the group.
And I'm sure there will be people who will fall for this, because they want to fall for stuff like this, so to go on with the farce they are seeing, and keep pretending that behind it everything is fine and pretty and cute.

I didn't expect NGT suddenly grow a brain or understand what they did wrong so far, but it's also hard to conceive the fact they really don't get it.

(I replied here because I remember we sort of switched thread, but please feel free to remove it if it is not appropriate)

i hesitated between here an the assault thread, but I think the assault thread should now recieve updates with direct things. (just my opinion)
This info is more about the theater organisation, so I found it more appropriate here.

By the way, they also updated the theater shedule:

It's funny that Katomina is the one who got the "harshest" punishment (demoted to Kenkyuusei, no more Twitter etc) while the supposed instigators Ayakani and Gatanee got off scot-free by management.

While I don't like the measure (it's like forcing to follow all your work colleagues for appearance's sake) it's not a NGT48-exclusive. In fact they could've done worse and just removed their SNS altogether. Look at K-Pop for example. Groups used to have individual Twitter accounts but K-Pop fandom is a hundred times more active and critical and judgmental so the slightest innocuous tweet could be turned into a full-blown scandal. Now they've a group account where you see curated boring generic posts that go through 10 managers' approval at least to make sure it doesn't kick up a storm before it gets posted.

And on the other hand I thought Maho's unfollow spree was overzealous or rather the people's interpretation of it, or maybe both. People took too much stock in it. At the end it became a tool to bludgeon members who didn't have anything to do with the original incident.
