Wow, amazing that Maiyan's growth is even higher this year compared to previous year. Overall she beats Sasshi's score last year.

Honestly not sure how they calculate the power scores, but for me I feel that looking at the graph more insightful. Basically the Y-Axis is Interest (Wants to see, hear, know them) and X-Axis is Public Recognition (Knows Name and Face):
    • Obviously, the more people know you, the harder it is to garner interest among all of those people. Just as en example, =LOVE have public recognition at around 7.5% but of the people who know about them, nearly 86% are interested in them. While AKB48 is at 45% Recognition and 52.5% Interest.
    • Maiyan is currently at 65% Recognition with 71% Interest, meaning that her recognition is actually greater than Nogizaka46 itself which is at 47% (73% interest)
    • Iku is at around 40% R & 75% I while Ashu is around 37% R & 72% I
    • For grads Nanase is around 46% R and 72% I and Ikoma 47% R and 65% I
Maybe if I get a better quality chart I could make a similar bar graph like Milan did with the girl groups, but with all the Sakamichi girls.

New super pushed ace Saito Asuka still can't surpass Ikuchan? Wow

Yoda and Endo not making it in top 20 and Yamashita did?

This list shows more the general public interest and appreciation than otaku/management ones.

Guess I'm more into GP preferences.

No surprise there. Maiyan and Ikuchan are both GP queen. Even Nanase couldn’t surpass Ikuchan in the past.

Credit to Milan and ME for helping him read the names lol

These are the results for the annual Nikkei poll for 2020 where they poll idols and other celebs and figure out their general recognition (whether the person can recognize the name and face) and interest (whether that person is interested in seeing them, watch them person, get to know them, etc.)

So as we can see, Nogi has a LOT of members on this list! Maiyan takes the crown for most public recognition, followed by Ikuta and Asuka. One thing of note is the member with the highest relative interest is Kaki at 86.7% making her one of the few girls who have interest over 85%.

Also obviously, they didn't poll every Nogi member, Nikkei probably chose only a handful of representative from each group. Notable omissions are Momoko and Kubo who are still very popular and have gotten CM work, but Nikkei probably just chose a few girls from each generation instead of polling all of them.

It's interesting to see that people that have never solo-centered like Kashiwagi Yuki, Yokoyama Yui, Yoshida Akari, and Saito Kyoko have higher public recognition than people in their respective groups who have centered singles. Also, compare Ikuta Erika who was center once 6 years ago to Saito Asuka who has already centered 4 singles and wouldn't be surprised if she's chosen as the center for the 26th single again.

When it comes to idols, the songs/performances are only one part of the job. If you want to make an impression with people outside of your fandom and group, and you have to be visible in variety, modeling, CMs, and film as well. Sasshi is a prime example of the variety type, but Yui and Yukirin are also the “voices” of their respective groups. Considering how unstable the center position is in 48Gs now, is it really surprising that not a lot of the centers stick on people’s mind?

As for the Asuka/Ikuchan gap, it’s honestly not that big of a gap, but I think there’s two factors:
    • Ikuta has been a face of Nogi from the very beginning of the group.
    • Asuka is more known among young people for her modeling, but Ikuta is more known amongst the older crowd (which is a bigger part of the population) thanks to her singing and variety appearances outside of the Nogi-only programs.

No surprise that Shiraishi and Ikuchan have the top selling photobooks.

Nogizaka46 just posted some answers to frequently asked questions regarding the upcoming Nogi Douga service that will launch in two weeks' time.

Two of the questions that we were wondering have been answered:
    • Nogi Douga won't be geoblocked in general, but there may be a handful number of videos that may be geoblocked due to rights restrictions. Yes, there will be original content, but there will be some licenced content, most notably MVs and maybe stage plays. That may or may not be subject to geoblock, we'll have to wait and see. Have a VPN handy, just in case it's unavailable outside of Japan - that is, if you can get through the biggest hurdle...
    • ...and that is the payment options. Officially they'll accept mobile phone payments (as part of their NTT docomo/KDDI au/SoftBank monthly phone bill) or credit cards that are issued in Japan - not outside. This is the obstacle we are concerned with. If they don't accept foreign credit cards once the service launches, then the only way foreigners can subscribe to Nogi Douga will be using a proxy service that will take care of Japan-only payments. (I have two questions: Does AKB48's streaming video service also require a Japanese credit card? And which proxy services are useful for such scenarios like Nogi Douga and AKB48 Video Warehouse?)

I like Junna, Kaz and Runa towel design the most. Junna write her introduction on it, Kaz with simple handwritten font style, and Runa use one word "確乎不抜 (Determined)", instead of her name.:D

I really like Kana's design, very clean. And it pains me to say it but Chima's towel design, well... it could be improved.

At least if you have it and make it to a concert then she can read it from afar!
